You really want a certain type of flower for all of your bouquets and you find a florist who says that she can import them, as they're not in season where you are at this time of year. In the few months leading up to your wedding you call just to make sure, she calls the grower each time and calls you back to say it's still fine. A few days before the wedding the florist calls and tells you that the grower says that the flowers have been damaged by the recent cold and rain. She says she has called every grower she could find but nobody has them. What do you do?

I would recognise that the flowers are not the most important, or even a little bit important part of a marriage, and that's what a wedding is all about - the beginning of a marriage. Sure, I'd be disappointed, but I'd also move on from it fairly quickly and get something of the same colour but different flower that was more readily available.

Well it sucks but I guess that if it were me, I would just have to get over it and choose a different type of flower that is in season (and available) that is close enough to the other flower. It's not like I would have much choice in the matter. :detective:

However I am not the best person to answer as I couldn't have cared less what flowers I had at my wedding (or napkins, tablecloths etc etc.) :D

Honestly.... the same thing happened to me - i was guttered! it ruined the whole look of my bouquet not having the flowers i wanted in it....

i ended up flagging the flowers, went to the local supermarket and brought a wayyyyy nicer bouquet wayyyyyyyy wayyyyy cheaper - i was stoked!

Choose another flower but make sure that she knows I'm not happy, and seek some money back.

I really don't understand how it is her fault?? She is not Mother Nature- it's not as though she can control the weather...

Although it may be through no fault of her own that the flowers cannot be delivered I would still ask for my deposit back and take my business elsewhere.

You are paying for a service and regardless of the surrounding circumstances the service wasn't delivered so that's that IMO

Yeah.. I wouldn't seek money back, I'd be annoyed but it's not HER fault. I'd choose other flowers..

I'm a pretty flexible person tho'.. as my boss says "Those who are flexible will never be bent out of shape."

i'd choose something else, as flowers are pretty but your marriage is much more important. i struggle now to remember the details of our cake...only got married in 2002. but i remember every 'look' my dh gave me and every silly giggle we shared!Valentine

i would be a little upset, but not at her as it is not her fault and nodoby can dictate mother nature.

i would pick the next best thing, i voted no.4 option, because your union as husband and wife is more important, and that is what you want ot last forever, the Wedding is only 1 day but marriage is forever.

Anyway flowers usually wilt by the time of the reception:yes:.

Meh, it's only flowers. It won't affect the marriage, and won't make much of a difference to the wedding. *shrugs*

Thanks guys. I actually work for the florist. I really feel for her because she is a perfectionist and passionate about providing top quality service, and I think she has tried much harder than any florist I know would have (myself included). I think that if the bride isn't understanding, happily return the deposit and send her on her way.

I've had this happend a few times when I had my own business and the brides were always understanding and happy with the end product.

I would just choose another flower, it isn't her fault that they got damaged, not really the growers fault either.
The wedding will be beautiful no matter what sort of flowers you have.

I would be annoyed, but I'd just pick another bunch of flowers.

In the grand scheme of your wedding, your bouquet probably won't be something anyone remembers. I'd be doing my best to try and keep in mind that they're only flowers... they're not the end of the world.
