Gall Bladder removal

I developed gall stone symptoms when my baby was 9 weeks old and just had my gall bladder removed 2 weeks ago. My baby is 6 months old now (she is my fourth). Just wanted to know if anyone out there has had the same surgery - know it's pretty common after pregnancy and if they had any adverse effects since surgery, eg weight gain, digestive probs. Would love to hear from anyone as surgeon pretty much says no after effects, but I have heard of people gaining weight and am already about 20kg overweight so a bit scared!

Hello, yes i had my gall stones and gall blader removed by key hole surgery last october and the pain was un believable wasn't it. I had 2 children before i had the operation and i've still got the scars and is still a bit tender when you touch or my kids land on my tummy. I haven't really gained weight but was sick for few weeks back . The only problem i'm experiencing is ever since had the operation i seem to be feeling like crap all the time but not pregnant though so it could be side affect from operation or my cycle is all out of wack and can't seem to fall pregnant easily now. with my first 2 children i fell pregnant rally easily. Well i had a key hole surgery for gall stoned after my first son though i dont think i have had any side effects. I have gained weight but i never heard of that being a side effect. i had never heard of the disease until i had it.

Thanks for that bit of info. Well I can say that I generally feel crap as well a lot of the time. But I think its still sleep deprivation, etc. My girl stills breastfeeds every couple of hours during the day and few times at night as well! I also have 19, 14 and 11 year old boys - so have plenty of parenting issues to tackle as well.

Well I thinks its a good time to rethink my diet anyway - try to cut out some junk food and hopefully not gain any weight and lose a bit!
