Hi
I'm pretty sure you can test at anytime of the day, I did in the afternoon and it showed a positive result. However, I think the tests may say from memory, that morning is the best time to test?

There is no reason why you cant test in the afternoon or any other time of day. The HCG levels are more concentrated in your first morning urine, thats why it is best to test first thing. It will just give you a more accurate result - and avoid a false negative result.

If you are testing early, ie before AF is due then it's best to test first thing, as Ally said that's when the HcG hormone is at it's highest. But if AF is late then any time is okay. I tested at 5:30pm and got a strong positive with Harry.
Since someone else started this thread, i have a question as well. How early can you test?
depends on the sensitivity of the test, apparently the earliest for the most sensitive ones it 7-10dpo.

I did mine at 9pm at nite after i finally worked up the courage to do it LOL !
The positive was nice & clear so if its going to be so then no matter when you do it will show. But as the girls said if its very early on then it does tend to be best in the morning !
Good luck !

Hi Nicky,
All pregnancy tests are pretty much the same. Some will show lower levels of hcg than others, but when it comes down to it they all do the same thing.
There are tests out there that advertised testing from 7-10dpo (which is where your at now) but if I were you I would try and hold off for a few days yet. I know its hard (us women are so impatient :p ) but the longer you leave it the more accurate the result will be.
Good luck!!!

Hi Nicky- the name of the early PG test is Fortel you can get it from the supermarket for about $12- for two test . It say you can test 5-7days before AF show up. Best of luck.

i tested with fortel "early response" before my period was due and even after.
Both times showed negative whereas I was acutally quite positive.

Discover one step early result is probably one of the best for early testing, they say first morning urine sample is best but I know allot of women find afternoon or 2nd morning sample to be stronger (this has always been true for me as well) No 2nd line with first morning sample, but line with 2nd morning and afternoon sample. Just make sure to limit fluid intake and hold it in for a few hours, I know for me also the colour of the sample if darker was normally stronger (TMI sorry)

Hi Nicky_ i think its best in the morning to test when your hcg levels are at there highest, however if you can wait, do one in the arvo and one any the next morning, I found Discovery One step to be accurate for early testing, best of luck!

Hi Nicky and other girls
I say do if in doubt do it first thing in the morning. Last Sunday I did one at 5am when I woke up and got a faint + but later at the doctors got a -. The next day I did it in the afternoon and got a clear + ! When I confirmed it at the doctors surgery later, he said that 24 hours can make a huge difference in the outcome of a HCG test around the time your period is due.
Even though they are more expensive, I recommed the clear blue digital, 2 tests for $21.95. Instead of a possibly ambiguous + or - it says pregnant or not pregnant. I reckon that takes the guess work out of it and prefer it to the others - however, I'd only buy it if I was pretty sure about the outcome as it is double the price of the other tests!!!:)
Hi all thanx for all your help but
found out im pregnant,
thankyou so much everyone
