When I was pregnant with DD1 I had heart palpitations every now and then. With this one it seems to be much worse! Last night they seemed to be constant. Today I'm fine. They seem to come on when I get stressed.
I'm also obese, so that has me very worried. I was a wreck last night. I was so scared I was going to die, I kept looking at DD and thinking I have so much to live for. The more I thought about it the more I stressed, so of course, they worse they got.
I'm going to the doctor when I get home. It's a shame it's taken the threat of a heart attack to wake up. I'm not as indestructable as I thought. :(
This has turned into more of a 'getting it out' post than a question, but here it is;
Have you had any heart palpitations? If yes, how bad are they? Often?

Hey honey I am not due in Feb but am answering anyway :p
First of all :hugs:... It is sucky to have them and yes I do. However I already have a known heart condition (as you know) so I guess it is more expected? They were much worse during pregnancy also, but probably closer to the end for me.
Doctors weren't overly concerned, as I was meant to be taking it easy as it was.
Ok I haven't helped at all :o But DEFINITELY see your doctor, and remember I am here for support too.
Mwah xoxox :hugs:

Hi Mum21,
Yes I've had heart palpitations before, to the point I thought I was going to die too! I had all the tests etc, & was given the all-clear. Mine were called 'ectopic' beats I think, & are harmless, though a bit disconcerting.
All in all, it's worth seeing your doctor about, but keep in mind they may be completely harmless. Take care hun!

Hi I also have heart palpitations but they dont occur very often but when they do it feels like my heart is going to pop out of my chest and i can actually see my chest going up and down . have you ruled out panic attacks as it sounds as though thats what they could be
hope this helps

Hi Mum21,
I have had heart palpatations, and i dont want to scare you but it was very serious for me.I was sweeping up when i was about 30 weeks pregnant when all of a sudden i got heart pals they were really fast and hard my chest was thumping and it hurt real bad i run out of breath and i had some pain in my chest and throat.I went into hospital and they monitored my palse and was 250 bpm more than double than what it is meant to be.
While i was in hospy i was rushed to resuss and put on heart monitors,my heart rate was very high they put monitors on me and also a elcectric shock thing in case i went into arrest. They tried some natural things first to bring my heart rate down but it wouldnt go down, then they decided to give me a drug that is supposed to make you feel awful,i refused i was scared i thought i was going to die,but i didnt want to die i aked them how long the feeling lasts they said only a few second, they gave it to me and it didnt really feel that bad.It didnt work so they had to get me a second dose,it started to lower to about 150 bpm. They had to give me some other stuff over the night to help me and also had to check if there was any damage to my heart.
I found out about 3 weeks later that i had a condition called Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome of other words Sudden Adult Death syndrome.
The next couple of months was hard, being in and out of hospital. When i gave birth to my son,a week after my heart started playing up really bad and ended up in critical care.
I went to see a cardiologist who said a heart op would be best,i had the op and it was a success i dont have the condition anymore.
What im trying to say by writing this is dont igonore the warning signs and if you feel there is something really wrong dont ignore you instincts.I did and it nearly cost me my life.I am so glad to still be here with my kids but all i can say is please please look after yourself, and get checked out.
BIG higs and if you need to chat then pm me,next time you get the palps goto the hospital they can determine wether the palps are normal or dangerous.
