Family friend getting married soon and while a fairly traditional wedding have asked for advice on a song to walk up the aisle to AFTER the ceremony (I think the other thread refers to walking into the church?)

They were thinkings something with a bit of omph like a Michael Buble?

(At one wedding they went out of the church to "Mumma told me there'd be days like these!"!!

This is what we had.....it has always been my fav....

YOU TO ME ARE EVERYTHING - 26/06/1976
3 weeks at #1 - 11 weeks on chart

Oohh I would take the stars out of the sky for you
Stop the rain from falling if you asked me to
I'd do anything for you, your wish is my command
I could move a mountain when your hand is in my hand

Words could not express how much you mean to me
There must be some other way to make you see
If it takes my heart and soul you know I'd pay the price
Everything that I possess I'd gladly sacrifice

Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I could sing
Oh baby, oh baby
To you I guess I'm just a clown
Who picks you up each time you're down
Oh baby, oh baby
You give me just a taste of love
To build my hopes upon
You know you've got the power girl
To keep me holding on
So now you've got the best of me
C'mon and take the rest of me
Oh baby

Though you're close to me we seem so far apart
Maybe given time you'll have a change of heart
If it takes forever girl then I'm prepared to wait
The day you give your love to me won't be a day too late

Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I can sing
Oh baby, oh baby
To you I guess I'm just a clown
Who picks you up each time you're down
Oh baby, oh baby
You give me just a taste of love
To build my hopes upon
You know you've got the power girl
To keep me holding on
So now you've got the best of me
C'mon and take the rest of me
Oh baby

Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I could sing
Oh baby, oh baby
Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I could sing
Oh baby, oh baby
Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I could sing
Oh baby, oh baby
Oh you to me are everything
The sweetest song that I could sing
Oh baby, oh baby

I used Natalie Cole's "(this will be) Everlasting Love" after the ceremony and upon entry to reception "we'll always be together" from Grease y'know the song they all sing at the end.

Few other suggestions:
So much in Love ('All 4 one' do a acapella version)
Accidently in Love- Counting crows
Is this Love- Bob Marley

PS. I walked down the aisle to "At Last" by etta james as DH and I had (keyboard batteries ran out...grrr) been together for 15 years already.

I always like traditional instrumentals like Trumpet Voluntary or Pachabel's Canon. They never date and I always worried that if I picked a "pop" song that I'd cringe at it years down the track.

We had an organist and left the church to Charpentier's prelude from Te Deum, it is lovely and celebratory.

I know what you mean, probably does depend on the song, but some 'pop' rather than 'song' date more than anything.

Pachabel was very big in the 90's..heard it at too many weddings now!

We did hear Michael Buble's 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' which was pretty upbeat

Thanks for the suggestions! Will pass them on:thumbsup:
