I have noone..... :gloomy: I had a falling out with my mum about 4 years ago and my dad took her side. My brother is busy with his own life. I have a couple of friends here where I live but I don't know If I could face them with this.......think I'll be more comfortable with my friends here on bubhub
I've been trying not to cry in front of my sons (they are aged 6 a nd 3) but now they are in bed I can't stop crying.
My house is a pig sty but I'm too exhausted to even bother.
Doesn't he realise how much he is losing? I just don't get it. our baby is only 6 weeks, I can't stop apologising to her for all of this. My kids don't deserve this , they need their dad around.

Oh babycakes, you have done nothing wrong and have nothing to apologise for. As for crying - go for it. You need to get the emotions out sometimes, just do it. And the house, geez, who cares what it looks like. Your priority now is YOU, not the vacuuming. I'm so sorry you've got no family there to talk to, it sounds like your DH doesn't realise what he's losing. Will you get a chance to talk to him? Do you know where he's gone?

LusciousMum23
29-06-2007, 18:12
He's on days off from work so he's gone to his mums place (she lives an hour away), not sure where he'll go when he gets back here for work. we can't afford for him to rent, he has noowhere else to stay. I don't want him here if he doesn't love me.

twitch
29-06-2007, 18:21
I'm sure he still loves you. Maybe if you could sit down together and communciate you can get to the bottom of the issues. I really hope he comes to his senses and realises what he has. He must know what him being away means to your family and that it is no solution going to his mum's house. Try not to think the worst, I know it's hard as DH and I have been there a few times with him running away. In the end, it's communication that helps to build those bridges back again. I hope he gives you the opportunity to do that. :hugs:

LusciousMum23
29-06-2007, 18:31
He doesn't want to talk. I pleaded with him to stay and talk things over this weekend but he said there is nothing to talk about, he said he doesn't love me and doesn't want to live a lie. He said its nothing I've done he's just not having any feelings for me.
We have argued a lot over the past year as he has been drinking heaps and going out and not coming home to early morning, spending lots of money on cr@p and the list goes on. I should probably be out of love with him too but I know I'm not.
I just don't know what to do next, just don't think I can cope with this and the kids as well.
Thankyou Twitch , love ya lots :hugs:

Babycakes, I am so sorry. :hugs: You deserve so much better than someone who will do that to his family. It's impossible to fall out of love with someone just because you think you should, you can't help loving him even if you're not getting back what you're giving and things are unbalanced and he's doing things that don't deserve your love. You shouldn't feel like you shouldn't be in love with someone like that, all your emotions will come together over time and you'll get stronger from the love you give and receive from your babies.

Whatever happens, you have your 3 gorgeous munchkins and they love you more than anything else in the world. :hugs:

Thankyou Twitch :hugs: . We nearly broke up just b4 our wedding cos he had a slight case of cold feet and now I wish we had of then. I don't want my kiddies to have to go through this. DS1 is 6 and I feel as though this is a bad age for him to experience a "broken home", I don't want him to blame me :crying:.
I've been with him since I was 16 and never really had seroius boyfriends b4 him. I feel like I couldn't possibly ever go out with someone else. Its too early to be thinking of things like that but its hard not to IYKWIM?
We own our home we are living in but are paying off a rental that we were going to live in oneday, now I feel like this dream has also shattered. Its just not fair. Its all just too painful.

HI Ladies!!

Babycakes - I'm so sorry your DH is being such a tool... Please take care of yourself and your beautiful kidlets. We are all here to support you right now :hugs:

And as for me - life is cruising on by so quickly! I hadn't been on the hub for about 3 or 4 days and have missed out on so much. We're just trying to keep busy, get out of the house at least once every day, and enjoying every minute of motherhood.

Babycakes - I am so sorry :hugs: I agree with Ellefreya, I too loved my mum more growing up, seeing how strong she was after my Dad left (I was 4) - my sister and I learnt so much from her about inner strength.... and when I had my own tragedy (my first DH passed away just over 2 years ago) I coped because of the person my mum made me

My thoughts are with you and the kids.

Random Question Of the Day.
How much weight has your baby gained since discharge?

At birth Isaac was 3.88kg, at 8 weeks he is 6.35kg - so he has gained 2.47kg  WOW!

Ellefreya - Isaac has his needles next week too  not looking forward to that, not sure who will cry more, me or him!

Babycakes - so sorry to hear about what has happened, I cant imagine what it must be like with a bub 6 weeks old, my kids were 2 and 6 when my exH and I split, that was hard enough. Dont worry about your kids blaming you, they wont as long as you are honest with them about what is happening.

babycakes i'm going to join in with the group hug!! :hugs: if you lived closer i'd love for you and your bubs to come keep stay.... keep me company during the day!! :) but i do hope that things improve for you one way or the other.

twitch - DP has been known to kick our car over the last week or two as well!! we've got it back up and running again, cross fingers it does us well for at least another week or two!

RQOTD (or was it week?) - at last weigh-in (tuesday last week) she had just gained 1g over her birth weight. having said that though, we've had her on the strict feeding regime of feed then top up with formula at times. i'm waiting with bated breath to see what she now weighs on tuesday. i don't know if it is just my imagination, but she certainly looks a lot 'chubbier'.

mum and i took lily to visit my nanna today - she lives in a aged care facility and has alzheimers. i haven't seen my nanna so excited in ages!! she had several cuddles with her, and kept wanting to show her off to people. i was so pleased that it made her day!! :)

the last few days i've seen real changes in lily. she's become a lot more interactive, smiles constantly and likes to play with the toys hanging across her rocker. she's also started 'talking' back to me!! it just makes me love my little girl even more - if that's at all possible!

Oh babycakes - I've just got online and read what happened. I am so sorry. You know that you can count on all of us to be here for you. And don't you worry - your kids will love you no mattter what! You're a strong woman....and a fantastic mummy!

Lachlans Mum - I don't know how you coped losing your husand.... you too must me a remarkably strong woman.

Ellefreya - good luck with your needles. i am so scared to see Tehya get hers.

Camille - I jumped on to Isaacs webpage...my gosh he is a cutie. Your whole family are stunning! You must be one proud Mumma!

Miss Ani - I'm so happy to hear that Lily is doing so well. I bet you feel a lot better too seeing her getting chubbier! Good on you and ...Go Lily!!

Things with us are good. Tehya is dishing out the smiles now...it melts my heart. She talks a lot too and makes the cutest sounds. Shame though, she has a bit of a rash on her forehead - and it looks awful. Very dry skin and quite red...kind of like ecsma...poor dear.
She still sleeps really well. She slept last night from 9.30pm - 5am. 7.5 hours! I feel very lucky....

:hugs: to all....

Lejay - :yelclap: for the smiles. They are great aren't they.

Miss Ani - Glad to hear that things are going so well with Lily.

Pink Lady - Glad to hear that things are going so well with Jedd and you are enjoying your time.

RQOTD: I am not 100% sure how much weight Jet has put on. I know it is in his book but that's in another room and I am warm here. I think last week he had put on a total of 600 / 700 grams since birth.

We have our 2 months needles tomorrow. I am not sure whether he is going to cry more than me but if it is anything like when we got his tongue tie corrected than it will be me crying more than him.

how are you doing today, babycakes?

lejay - lily has a rash on her forehead as well. fortunately it is fading and only looks nasty when she cries.

sara - good luck with the immunisations today! lily has hers next week.

i was drying lily after her bath last night, playing and being silly... and she started squealing at me. she was so gorgeous, all smily and squealy! :D

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read?

i've been reading my old milly-molly mandy books and the very hungry caterpillar (a favourite already!).

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read?

Yes, old Golden Books that were handed down by the older DD & DS and even some from when I was a child! Lots of different classic stories. We are trying to set a routine after his last feed (around 7 or 8pm) of bath, pjamies, quiet cuddles and a story before bedtime.

Still thinking of you Babycakes.

Well the past few days Jayden has been sleeping really well at night. Thur and Fri night he slept 7.5 hrs... Sat night 5 but then a quick feed and down for another five.... but last night he slept for a whole 9.5 hrs:eek:... poor guy was just too tired...then he woke at 7.15 for a 15 min feed and is still asleep.

As for weight gain... he was 3.86kg at birth and was 5.5 last wed..

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read?

I have been reading to him...usually whatever I'm reading though...:o a lot of "baby love"

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read?

We were given a book of fairy tales so we have been reading out of that. We have been trying to read nearly every night and 2 weeks has passed and we are finally nearly at the end of the book. I didn't realise it had so many different stories in it.

Morning ladies!

We are reading to Tehya. I read English books - fairy tales and whatever novel I am reading. And my DH reads Afrikaans books that we bought over our last holiday to South Africa....as we really want her to be fluent in both languages.

I had a few hours away from Tehya already this morning as I needed to interview a woman for a company I am doing some freelance work for.... I miss her so much when i am away from her. The lonest I have been away is 3 hours.

What is the longest you've been away from bubs?

Hmmm...I'm curious too Bexta, 4 hours later you were discharged????

Babycakes, haven't seen you around, hope you're ok, I'm thinking of you :hugs:

Weight gain - Annalise was 7 pounds 8 when she was born, at 7 weeks she's 11 pounds

As for reading :o I try to but she is just not interested. Maybe mummy's just not exciting enough for her, I dunno. We have heaps of books, all really colourful ones, but she won't sit still long enough to be read to.

We've got Anna's immunisations next week, I've told DH he has to come as I don't think I'll deal very well with seeing her in pain.

Apart from that, not much else is happening. She sleeps from 8pm til 4.30am every night, she is always smiling and happy and loves cuddles. She's my perfect little bubba at the moment!

How is everyone going today? I'm pretty good, Skye slept 8 hours last night :smiliedance: (8.20pm to 4am) me and Grant went to bed about 10.30pm but neither of us could sleep (ended up getting to sleep around 1am) hopefully Skye sleeps like that every night. :fingerscrossed:
She is having more milk in her bottles now (maybe that is why she slept longer?)

Not sure how much weight Skye has put on since birth (at birth she was 7lb 15oz) I am going to the health nurse next week so will let you all know, she also has to have her needles.

after being so good at settling for the last little while, lily has decided to go ballistic. the last few nights she's been harder to settle, but tonight she's just out of control! she's doing the really desperate, hysterical cry - she's not hot, has a clean nappy on and been fed. perhaps it's a 'wonder week' for her. Weight gain so far at birth 2352g discharged at 4weeks 2676g and at 10 weeks 4620g so since discharge he has gained 2kg :yelclap: .

Longest I've left bub 4weeks in SCU only able to see him for a couple of hours a day it's a killer. However it's no drama now if I need to go out.

Sam is really starting to be much more alert over this past week or so and starting to smile more and bat at his toys on his rocker he's a pleasure he sleeps at least 8 hours a night now. Anyway got to go I'll try and get on again a bit sooner next time.

Hi everyone.

I am not reading any books to Quinn but make up stories and songs every time he is awake. He watches my face attentively so I must be somewhat amusing him.

He is "talking" and smiling a lot more each day.

Hasn't got any cradlecap but has dry skin on his forehead and milk pimples on his chin - poor bugger has more pimples then his daddy did when he was a teenager!!

As I have previously said I am not expecting him to sleep through for a loooooong time so am still quite happy with his 4-5hr feeds (although seems to become ravenous between the 5-7am timeframe some mornings).

At 4wks he had put on 500gms, is actually due for his needles this week but as our doctor is away on holidays will have to wait for next week. I am fine with needles - always had to do them by myself with DD so will be no different with Quinn's. Was more upset with him being wheeled away for his circumcision.

Babycakes don't feel ashamed. Like fozzie said, he's the one that should be ashamed of his actions. With my DH and his "issues" I really found talking to someone else helped. I went to the GP who referred me to someone and it helped so much. If you can get someone to watch your munchkins for a while it is well worth going. Either way, we're all here for you!

Annalise slept from 9pm to 7am this morning :smiliedance: I am a new woman! I am so proud of her. She was awake most of yesterday so that probably had something to do with it.

The longest I've been away from DD was 3 hours when DH and I went out for tea. All we did was talk about her the whole time though :o

Miss Ani hope things improved with Lily last night.

Hope everyobe has a great day, we're off to mothers group at the local cafe.

Well last night Jayden slept for another 9.5 hrs from 10pm to 7.30am.... I wish I could say i did the same...like you Bel... I was up almost the whole night so sick with fever and sore throat.... but I had a lil nap with him this morning and feel a lot better..

The longest I have left him for was also 3hrs... MIL kept telling us to g out because she wanted to spend time with Jayden so last Fri night we went to dinner and a movie and the whole time I felt so anxious and guilty.

Hi there!

Well, Tehya is having a bad day today. She has been screaming for two hours. I've fed her, changed her nap, taken clothes off, put clothes on....and she will not stop crying. She is sort of calm now....who knows if it will last. And like you said Miss Ani - it is that hysterical desperate crying....its so awful.

And what makes it worse is that I have SO much to do at the moment and feel like I cannot get any of it done....

biiig hugs to you, lejay!! unfortunately lily didn't settle properly until 3am!! argh!! at least she then slept 5.5hrs solid.

the big news today is.... lily has put on 300g in a week!!:smiliedance: i am so pleased with my little girl!! drinks are on me!! :D

aaand most i've been away from lily is 2 hours when DP and i went out for dinner and mum watched her. she slept almost the whole time. the real test comes in 2 weeks when we head out for a bit of a 'big night' for a friend's birthday. (although the most potent thing i'll be drinking will be coke!) mum is coming to stay that night and watch her, and i plan to be back by 2am for her mid-night feed.

Yep! Wanted my own bed & shower!!! He was born at 7:30am & we left at 11:30am, we were starving so popped into Burger King for lunch straight after . Almost didn't seem worth going at all considering he almoost came in the lift... so we were there all up only about 4 1/2hrs!!!

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read?
DS loves green eggs & ham.

Babycakes - more:hugs: for you & don't worry about the 'me' posts.

Anita - I feel your pain... my DS is fighting bed time too... the screaming kills me & he's just so tired but won't go down.

Bel - Congrats on the long sleep bubs had... you didn't get a wink anyway by the sounds of it:D!!!

The longest I've been away from DS was half a day... he went to MILs house. She lives next door & I can see into her loungeroom anyway!!!

DS was 2 months yesterday (http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x317/drkustoms/?action=view&current=2monthsold007.jpg), gee time flys but I still have no idea what I'm doing!!!

Hi Guys

Just popping in to say "hi" - not much happening here really, most of my time taken up with DS who is having terrible 3's.

DD doing very well. Not sleeping through (very jealous of some of you) probably sleeping 7 or 8 hours some nights, but starts that sleep at like 5 or 6 pm..... so still a disturbed night for me/DH. Last night she fed at 5 pm, and went down about 7 pm, then didn't wake till 2 am, then back down till 6 am, and then down till 8.30 am. Not too bad.

Birth weight was 3370g (7lbs 7oz), discharge weight 3140g, weight last Monday was 4660g (10lbs 6 oz - i think?), so we are very happy with that!

DD not having her needles for about another 2 weeks (she was only 6 weeks on sat just gone).

I have been away from DD for a couple of hours here and there to do groceries etc. but she has always been with DH - we have not "left" her with anyone yet - we have not felt "ready"

DD still what I consider a settled baby as my DS was a horror! Sometimes fights to go down in the evening, but it is DH's shift then once he gets home  and he has "the knack" for getting her off to sleep, I am very lucky that way..... except that leaves me to contend with DS's bath, dinner and our dinner prep (which is 2 meals at the moment too because I am on a diet)...... life is busy.

Wish you all a good night - sleep dust:wizard:

Lachlans Mum - I don't know how you coped losing your husand.... you too must me a remarkably strong woman.

Thanks, Lejay. I like to think these things make us stronger.

I forgot a couple of the questions:

Reading - we sometimes bring DD in when we read to DS (bedtime every night) if she is awake, but I must confess I haven't sat and read specifically to her.... but that was a great reminder - because I was doing it with DS at this age.... just had slipped my mind!

DD too is smiling HEAPS and talking too! It is sooo cool, I think I'd forgotten how soon they do it and how cute it is! :smiliedance:

sorry babycakes:gloomy: . Im sad for you. I know the pain you are feeling, i have been there in that situation when i had DS1 6 years ago. It really is the most imense pain isnt it, you know we are all here to chat to you, and we really dont mind if you have thousand of "Me" posts!! you can even start your own thread if you want!!:D .

The rest of this may be a little random.. as im so slow at keeping upi with all these posts... soon as i finish reading them, there are a hundred more to read, we are not really in a routine as such at the moment either, soon i hope:o

reading.... We are loving Meg & Mog in our house at the moment, i used to read them when i was a rugrat!
Weight... Lilah was 2300g when born which is 5.1 pounds, she is now the grand old age of 9 weeks and is weighing in at....3850g which is 8.8, so she is getting there....slowly:yelclap:
I must say again how bloody cute our may bubs are! we are very clever,

Hey chicks!!
How are you all?
Ebony is 11 weeks old tomorrow omg she is growing too fast! She is so bright and happy... giggles and gurgles as she "talks" to you.

I am finding though that she doesn't sleep as much during the day anymore, anyone else finding this, maybe it is a growth spurt or age thing???

So glad to know i am not the only one that feels not ready to leave bubba...Thought i was having separation issues!!

Kaid does not want to sleep during the day he aways wants to smile and oh and watch TV and EAT (typical male)!! Its drivin me insane because i am a massive clean freak always doing washing and organising things an i dont get a chance now! I do put him in the carrier or sling but he gets so grumpy!

Is anyone findin that they totally tune out during the nite i dont check times so i can never remember wen i last fed him i just roll over chuck him on then we both go back to sleep i dont even remember how many times it happens!! I could be feeding him every half hour an wont realise i try to remember to look at the time BUT IM TOO ZOMBIED OUT!!

Not sure if i posted this already but ive decided to go to uni and do midwifery they have direct entry now so i dont have to do nursing aswell just 1 day a week and 1300 hours of practical work in hospitals over the 3 years..HOW GOOD IS THAT!! Im so excited never felt so motivated in my life!

Wat a long post lol... Hope all u ladies are well!

hello to all you lovely may mums - sorry its been ages but I'm finding i'm too tired to post when I come on. Ebs is doing well today, she's actually been quite settled and I'm hoping its a new trend for her (touch wood). She's stretched out her feeds today and has been asleep more and for longer.

We are still sleeping on an air mattress in the lounge room (its been almost 3 weeks) and I'm sick of it. Luckily DH has Thursday off so he can get it done.

I've decided that once we are back in our room I'm moving Ebs into the cot in her own room. It's right next to ours. Although saying it and doing it are 2 different things. I had DD1 in the bassinet beside us for 5 months, poor thing was probably hitting her head on the top of the bassinet by that stage. I was so terrified of SIDS I couldn't let her out of my sight, but with #2 you really are more relaxed.

I've been really tired the past few weeks and am having trouble not losing it at DD1. She's 16 months and pretty full on but I just wish sometimes she could watch a movie or something to give me a break. Today I found myself wanting her to be naughty so I could put her in time out to give myself a break (even if it was only 2 mins). DH is great at entertaining her when he's home but he tends to ignore Ebs. I keep reminding him that she's a newborn and he can't just let her cry herself to sleep at 5 weeks old.

I think we're both suffering from lack of adequate sleep ATM. He's snappy and so am I. Tonight he lost his temper while taking chips out of the oven cause they burned his hand (duh - oven = hot) so he punched the cupboard and DD1 was there to see it. I asked him not to do that and he got all defensive. He's also smoking again (the green stuff) and I don't like it when he does cause it makes him narky. I can't talk to him about it cause he's all defensive and almost mean  I just feel that he doesn't appreciate how trying it is with the 2 girls right now.

Anyways sorry for the vent. I have my 6 week appt this Thursday and they are inserting my Mirena IUD at the same time, which I am nervous about. The only good thing is that it gives me a break from the girls while I am at my appointment. Although I will probably be thinking of Ebs and worrying about them the whole time :banghead:

Hugs to you all, I'll do personals next time I promise.

Donna - I feel for you, I know what it is like when they lose it then blame everyone but themselves:( ....I am thinking of changing contraception as the pill I'm on is making me nutty, what is the IUD and how does it work?

Babygirl - you are so lucky, wow, 2 overnighters....I wish...

Ellefreya - isnt it good when you find what you want to do at uni! well done! I have one year left of a Bachelor of Human Movement Science which I will finish next year, I miss studying (I studying right up until Isaac was born and got a HD in the process!) and cant wait to get back to it.:geek:

Bexta - when Isaac cries in the car (he hates when the car is stopped and goes absolutely berserk) my DD and DS#1 bawl their eyes out cause they cant do anything...which in turn makes me bawl my eyes out cause they all are:crying: , we have a car full of tears, then when we get home we have a good laugh about what crybabies we are!

TSP - Isaac hardly sleeps during the day (maybe 30 minutes between his 3/4 hourly feeds, if at all). All my kids did that but were great sleepers at night so I didnt mind too much. Isaac slept from 11pm to 5am last night and is still asleep now (8am), so we are slowly getting there.:yelclap:

Have a good day everyone, Isaac has his needles today, not looking forward to it......

Did anyone's bubs react to their 8 week needles with fever, etc?

Jayden doesn't seem to sleep too much during the day either... but for the past week he has been sleeping between 7-9.5 hrs at night...,which is great! (:fingerscrossed: it stays that way)..

Donna- I don't know what it's like having two...but boy do I have a lot of respect for those of you who have more than one... I already have my hands full and feel like I can never get anything done.. :hugs: that things start getting better soon.

Babygirl- thats great that you have no problem leaving aalliyah with people you trust... I;m slowing getting there with MIL...lol

We have the needles next week and I am so not looking forward to it... but I know he's a strong boy...we'll be fine.

Well Jayden slept for another 9.5 hrs last night so lets hope this is his new pattern... if I put him down around 10pm then he tends to sleep between 7-9 hrs. He isn't quite smiling yet...but he's trying....and it was so cute last night we had him on a play mat that has music...and when the music would go on he would wriggle his little legs...when it went off he would stop and scream... I thought it was a fluke at first but did it a few times and every time it was the same... DH and I couldn't get enough of it.

Hi mysteeq I was wondering where you were or if you were just soo busy with your two lovely bubs. Glad you found us.

Well Jayden slept for another 9.5 hrs last night so lets hope this is his new pattern... if I put him down around 10pm then he tends to sleep between 7-9 hrs.[quote]

That's what we do with Samuel otherwise I have to go and wake him at 10 or 11pm for a feed otherwise he would only be getting 4 in a day and that's not enough.

[quote=stephym02;1660545] it was so cute last night we had him on a play mat that has music...and when the music would go on he would wriggle his little legs...when it went off he would stop and scream... Too cute things like that just melt your heart and crack you up too.:)

I got Sam a swing off ebay and it arrived yesterday he loves it so now when he's awake at tea time i can get the dinner done without him crying. Although when he's really unsettled he's not keen on it. I've just won a baby carrier off ebay today I've never really got on very well with them before as I have rather large boobs :o and they never sit high enough on me and hurt my back but the newer ones seem to have better support so I thought I'd give it a go, just didn't want to pay alot if I wasn't going to use it but where we live I can't walk to anywhere and I can't see the point in taking the pram when I'm only nipping into coles or wherever. I'll let you know how I get on.

I can't believe Samuel will be 12weeks old tomorrow it's gone so fast but he also seems so little probably because he's only been home 8 weeks.

Hi mysteeq!!! Glad everything is going well for you!!!

Did anyone's bubs react to their 8 week needles with fever, etc?We used Panadol drops before the immunisation, so no fever. He had a small lump on his leg but I actually think he was more allergic to the adhesive on the band-aid than anything else!!! It left a raised red bumpy mark on him when I took it off.

Just a question for BEXTA Where did you get the 'how to draw a pirate shirt and do they come in any other colour than pink? Not sure if my boys suit pink???We got it from a little shop in the trendy/coffee shop area of Newcastle... but maybe just type the brand name into your search engine & see what comes up??? They only had pink at the shop we bought it from, but might have other colours. DH at first thought I was mad dressing him in pink & purple, but it really suits him & his personality.

Have a great day everyone... our day is starrting out much better than yesterday:smiliedance:. Just hope it stays that way:fingerscrossed:.

Hi ladies!

Sounds like everyone is doing well!

Well, after a HORRIBLE day of screaming yesterday - Tehya had a great night! I was expecting the worst! She went to sleep at 7.30pm and I tried to wake her at about 9.30pm for a feed - but she was SO out of it that she only drunk a little bit and I put her back to bed (still out of it!). When I heard her whimpering for a feed I figured it must be around 2am....but to my shock it was 6.10am! YAY :yelclap: for Tehya. Little champion.

I'm also finding I don't have a lot of time. I'm sort of wishing that I hadn't taken on a part time job from home - and I'm also recruiting some staff at the moment for a company so interviewing a few times a week. Eek - I'm finding it harder to juggle than I thought but now I am committed to the p/t role for 12 months at least. Oh well, I suppose I have to look at the positive side and think about the extra $$.

Tehya has put on a fair bit of weight. She was 4040g (8lb 14oz) when she was born and was discharged at 3790g - she now weighs around 5200g at 6 weeks old. What a boofa!

Just came back from the dreaded immunisations - 3 needles and an oral (a new one for babies born after 1st May for the gastro bug). He didnt even notice the first needle or the drops, but he yelled his head off for the last 2, I had forgotten how horrible it was:crying: . Then 5 minutes later he fell asleep for an hour then woke up and drank 200ml of formula, it must have worn him out, poor bugger! No fever yet :fingerscrossed: .

hey guys!

bexta - i know how you feel.. i've been close on crying when lily is unsettled... and of course being tense just makes it worse!!

donna - DP and i have become snappy at each other as well lately. what with not getting enough sleep, the car dying AND our plumbing playing up lately, we find ourselves having a go at each other... then apologising profusely.

babygirl - don't feel bad.. it's nice that you have people to look after your little one for some me time!! :)

mysteeq - wow 3 months!! time flies!! glad to hear the twins are doing well!

lejay - :yelclap: for tehya sleeping through!! that happened to us last night... lily took forever to settle, but just after midnight she fell asleep... the next thing i know it's 7am!! i was frightened that something was wrong!

lily is bordering on laughing... she smiles and squeals and does little 'ah-ah' noises, like she's trying so hard to get a little giggle out! today she's having a 'screaming' day though, a shame since she had such a great night's sleep last night.

Hi all - it sounds like most of you are going grat guns - and so many getting some good sleep.. not me!

Bubs is a party animal like his dad - is up every night now from 11pm to 3am, then again 3-4 hrs later for at least 2 hours and feeds the whole time. Not sure I'm getting enough sleep time to keep the supply up!

We had our 6 week check on Monday - but DS wasn't measured or weighed and the only thing I had checked was my temp and blood pressure - is that all anyone else had? I almost feel like I should make an appointment with someone else for a proper check up.

The longest I've been away from bubs was yesterday - about 4 1/2 hours while I went and had a follow up GTT at the hospital - fun stuff!

I haven't started reading to DS yet, I sing a lot though! I have been thinking about starting up the book collection - seeing as everyone is starting to read to their bubs is just motivation to get started :smiliedance:

I haven't been around for a week or so and there is way too much that's happened for personals but :hugs: for babycakes - I completely agree with everything that has been said on here - and give yourself some credit - that fact that you can function and look after your 3 beauties shows great strength.

 Girls!! I feel like i have been away for soo long! So sorry, but this will probably be a MEGA post. Had the IL's up from Melbourne over the weekend, and DH is on holidays this week, so we've been busy. Went to see the pasha bulka before she left us on Monday, took DD to see a Dora show yesterday and been enjoying my little man other than that!! He has settled down into a nice little routine sleeping heaps in the morning, then fighting it of a nigth and not sleeping until 10-12. waking at 3 for a feed, then again at 7 and starting all over again. At least life is a little more predictable now. He is almost 3months old  .

Random Question Of the Day.
How much weight has your baby gained since discharge? 2.2kg on discharge - 5.7kg 2 weeks ago at 10 weeks, so 3.5kg!!!

RQOTD - are you reading to your little bub? and what do you read? Everything, from nursery rhymes, spot, dr suess. DD loves to read, so often when feeding Nick or after a feed she brings books over & we sit on the lounge & read together.

My sister is looking after Nick tomorrow! I get to go to the movies for the first time in about 3yrs. IT will be the first time Nick has been without either mum or Dad. I have left him for a few hours before to do the groceries etc, but his dad has always been there when i am not.

baby cakes - :hugs: I hope thins have gotton better for you with a bit more time having passed

miss ani - sounds like Lily is doing great with her weight gain, that's excellent!!

Bexta - big hugs for your bad day - it's ggod to let it out & have a cry when it gets too much!

mysteeq - the pic of the twins in your avatar is gorgeous.

I had better go & list some more nappies to sell, Nick has grown so fast it's time to sell some to get money for the next sizes. Hope the bubs continue to sleep longer at night, and those that aren't start soon for their tired mummies.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone!

I have been so AWOL lately, apologies! :o I have been helping DH with our business and feel bad if I am on the computer and not doing work for him, so have been reading (man you guys can TALK!) but not posting... but glad to hear that everyone is going OK.

Asha is a boom-bah baby... Grew 8cm and put on 1.2kg since birth, and now has a double chin! So cute. And she had her first ever 8hr sleep the other night (8pm until 4am). But before we get too excited it was definitely a one off...

Sleep deprivation is getting to me a bit, and the romance stakes with DH has gone well out the window. At this stage we will only have one baby because we will never BD again!

No other news really. Just doing the mummy thing - post natal exercise classes, Reel Mums movies, and joining a new mums group next week. Feel guilty cos DH works long hours and gets home and I have been sitting on the couch singing to bubs instead of doing the house-work. Whoops! Must get more organised.... :p

Sorry for the 'me' thread...!

how my day was.
Good, we read, we sang, we slept, fed and went for a walk.

oh yeah, didn't get around to that

Skye has been smiling for the last few weeks, she also 'coos' a little (so cute) we're still waiting for her to laugh/giggle. I think Hayley was about 3 months when she started laughing.

Just goes to show that when you put your mind to something (even when you are heavily pregnant) you can achieve anything!!!

RQOTD: Are anyone's babies "talking" (cooing etc) and/or smiling and laughing?
Nick has started to laugh the last couple of weeks - it is adorable. He doesn't do it much, but it's preiceless when he does. He is also talking/cooing a bit now. He has the cutest little voice, the first time he did it i was having breakfast and he was on the floor watching his toys. I thought he was going to start to cry, but when i looked he was smiling and 'talking to his toys'.

Camille - CONGRATULATIONS!!

Bel - Love the pics - looks like you had agreat time.

Not much more to say for tonight - sooo tired & DD is having a sleepover at my sisters, so only Nick & Dh to worry about. Going to get some much needed rest. ;)

I feel I'm a failure at getting my DS to sleep during the day... today for instance would have been a total of 45mins all up, so we have a screaming overtired bub nearly every night. Let me know how it goes... might have to check out the website myself. I'd love to hear about your TAFE course... I want to do the same. Cert III atm, but looking to go further. My work offered me Cert 4, but would rather what you're doing. Love the new avatar btw!!!

have doctors appointment on monday to get bubs needles and get my gall bladder sorted! then another appointment with my ob/gyn for friday to have a pap smear and check csection scar... and talk about CONTRACEPTIVE... my worst fear is that i might conceive again so soon... freaks me out.. we definately need SOMETHING... cause at our rate ill have another one in nine months lol:o so hope i can get that sorted asap...

Skye can be a bit funny with sleep in the day though it might be because she gets woken up  (I have her in the lounge room on one of those flip out kid's couches) I think I am gonna start putting her in her bassinett and into either our bedroom or her own bedroom once its cleaned up a bit. She is sleeping 7 to 9 hours at night though so I can't complain. Sometimes she is a bit unsettled but as long as she goes to sleep and stays asleep thats fine.

I wrapped him before his top-up feed before bed and fed him in a different room (no TV or lights on) He still fought the sleep and cried so i re-settled him once, but that was 5minutes ago and all is quiet. :smiliedance: Please, please, please let this be a success. He has been up to midnight some nights, just wanting to be held (at least it's not crying though). I have been told if they drink their bottles in 20 mins or less its too fast.... it should be 40 according to the nurses... Sienna can drink it from 10-40 depending..

Our needles are on Wednesday....

Sienna fell out of her Fisher Price Rocker swing and hit her head... she seems to be ok but we are watching her.

Morning all!

I have to brag...I had another wonderful sleep last night. Tehya had her last feed at 9.30pm and fell asleep right away. I woke up at 6.20am when DH was up for work...and she was just starting to wake up! I was so happy!

Bel - hope Sienna is okay! Good luck for needles....

Elle-Freya - you can have "me posts"... we are all here to support each other. You're life may not have turned out exactly the way you had thought or planned....but you have a beautiful little boy and what could be better than that? You are still young and have the opportunity to do whatever you want with your life...your family should be supportive of that.

Tehya is now talking a lot and is such a happy little thing. SHe is always grinning and its so cute with those gums showing! No matter how much times I see her smile - it just melts my heart!

Camille you have the same Aquarium too by the looks of it...

Lejay you can have Sienna for a night.. that way i can get some sleep.... some times we stretch out to 5 hours but not very often.

Ellefreya do you mind me asking how old you are you said people have a go at you because your young...

Guys a personal question.... How long did it take to get your periods back... for those who have.... I was BF part time i call it but only for the first few weeks as i was giving her more bottles then BF... As i said we are going to try for another bub soon.... as it took so long to get Sienna here...

ellefreya- the exhaustion really does creep up on you! you're doing well though... i wouldn't have the energy to shop until 5pm!!

camille - i haven't offered you my congratulations yet so... congratulations!! i hope to finish my degree off one day; i am part way through an arts degree majoring in childrens lit.

lily has been pretty good the last few days. she is usually asleep by 10pm and sleeps for about 4-5hrs before waking for a feed. she then sleeps until 7-ish.

this weekend mum is staying over to watch her while we head out for a friends birthday. we'll be out for about 7 hours, which will be the longest i've ever left lily, so i'm a bit nervous!! on the up side, i get to spend some time out and have at least one drink!! i also treated myself to a new outfit.

Hi All

I am way too tired to go back and do heaps of personals (sorry) so I'll mention what I can remember....

Camille congrats on your results!

Lejay you are lucky with your little sleeper! Ryleigh is pretty good, has been going down by 6 or 7 pm through to 2 am lately, then 6 am - although last night it was 1.30 and then 5.30 - but I can see a pattern forming... which is good.

During the day, however, the last week she wants feed 2.5 to 3 hrly in the morning, then 3 to 4 hrly in the afternoon, and tops up (half a bottle) before going down for her big sleep in the evening - and she will want that bottle even if she only fed an hour before!!

I don't mind how much she feeds, really, as long as she is settled, and has SOME sleep in between.... I don't have to worry about my nipples!;)

But I do worry when she "snacks" doesn't finish bottles and then "naps" instead of sleeping, because I worry it is setting up a bad routine! But then I think, gee she is only 7 weeks old, and she is having little growth spurts all over.

And on top of that she is SOOOO settled compared to Lachlan that I am in shock and I think I am "looking" for a problem when there really isn't one!

Sorry about the me post. My DS is sick today and so therefore has been more badly behaved than usual (if that is possible) and now I am pooped and a bit brain dead!

AF: I think I got mine about a week ago - I say think because it lasted for all of one day and was really light, and I am not even breastfeeding.... got me all confused because I was trying to start the pill too... so I was like, ok is this my period??

I don't remember that happening with DS - I think it just came back normal.

As for talking, Ryleigh is really smiley and chatty all the time - even 2 am - and we think she is really close to having a giggle!

Bel hope Sienna is ok, I have one of those swings, maybe I need to start actually strapping Ry in!

Ok brain has stopped now, must rest/eat whilst children asleep.....

Hi Guys,

Hope all is well.

Am not expecting AF for some time as Quinn is fully breastfed - with DD didn't get them back until she was 10mths old (which delayed us conceiving DS!!). Went for my 6wks check last week and chose not to get any contraception. Did have a pap smear which saves me going back in September.

Quinn is sleeping pretty well - normally around 3hrs at a stretch during the night. Is staying awake longer during the day as he becomes more alert. Is smiling and "talking" a lot more during the day which is lovely to watch.

Breastfeeding mums - have a question - is your Bub's poo still at the "seeded mustard" consistency? Can't remember back to when DD was the same age. Quinn is a regular pooper - every nappy change is a poopy one and my goodness they reek. Everyone says that breastfed babies don't have smelly nappies but Quinn passes wind and it stinks!!

Anyone else B/F and really annoyed with not being able to eat really spicy foods? We are big Tabasco fans and it kills me not being able to load up my dinner with chilli in the chance that it will upset Quinn's stomach.

Yes and yes. DD's poos are still mustardy looking and they do stink sometimes, as do her ripper farts. And the chilli food? Yes, I loooove mexican and I ate it a couple of weeks ago. big mistake. DD was a horror for the whole next day and her poos were really runny. Poor thing.

I dont think 16 is that bad if you have the right frame of mind... personally i wouldnt do it.. but Sienna took 3 years and 3 M/C's to get here... Sienna is just one day older.... I should have read your Sig ... Duh

No AF here either.. Ob said i should have had them by now... as i said we want another bub around a year apart.. DH is 33 now i dont want him to be older then 35 if we can help it as his Parents were 50 & 51 when they both died..

So what do i do in a month or so just do a test? or do i have to get AF before trying again?

Our needles are on Wednesday my DH has finally agreed to taking a week off she is 2 months today not happy... he has a very important job and is really busy... he is in canberra alot too which doesnt help us... So DH can come to the appointment with me...

Human Nature concert went well, i didnt pick DH and Sienna up till 2am from the SIL's opps.. as for fallen on the floor DH put her in her rocker and placed it on the lounge for a min to clean... he felt so bad but when it fell she was strapped in so only a little bump, i didnt have a go at him as he felt really bad and knows now not to place the rocker on the lounge even for a min.

Well Jayden was doing really really well at night sleeping 9hours, but he got a cold and finds it quite hard to breath so is waking a bit more frequently, after about 5-7 hours...which isn't too bad, hopefully after this clears up we'll go back to the routine.(:fingerscrossed:)

His poo's are still mustard seedy. His were actually quite stinky from the beginning, and at about 3 weeks they started not to smell...lol...except sometimes if it's a lot it will have a very strong milk smell..lol.. When I eat spicy it does really upset poor Jaydens tummy. MIL made me eat lots of food with A LOT of ginger, which made it quite spicy , but finally I made DH explain to her that the baby can't take it.( Sometimes the oldy chinese have really silly traditions/silly wives tales.)

I am afraid that I am getting him a bad habit... he seems to always want to be held, and of course not wanting to see bubs upset I am constantly holding him:o. I am just afraid that it is going to cause problems later on.. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Ellefreya - Don't worry about the 'me' post - that's what we are here for. My mum had my sis when she was 17, and was a grandmother at 36! Now she is loving having grandchildren why she is young and able to keep up with them. Remind people of that if they have a shot at you for being a young mum.

Still no AF here - i hope she stays away for a while, it was 10months with DD - when b/f started to slow down.

Mustard colour poo - yup - only twice a day or so now, so they are big and explosive!!

I am trying not to worry too much about what i eat - i just take note if he is unsettled, and see if the food has the same effect next time. I have only had one drink so far, and avoid caffine, so far nothing seems to bother him. I had pad thai noodles for lunch, but they were only mild and didn't bother him.

Nick has slept OK the last 2 nights, still waking after 5-7hrs, but at least he is going down without too much crying and holding/rocking! DD was sleeping 9/10-5:30at this age, so i think being spoilt by her has made me think Nick os a bad sleeper. He's just not as good as her, but still pretty good!!

Is there another growth spurt at 3months?? Nick has been wanting to be fed avery 2-3hrs today, a bit out of the usual for him. He's wanting more booby now - so seeyas!!

wow charlis mum thats amazing to know!! Yeah i understand y people think the things they do there is alot of young mums who totally abuse the privelege of having a child it frustrates me that i am classed into that stereotype because i consider myself to be far from that but such is life, hey.

 Nick is still asleep!! I fed him from 8:30-9:30 last night, and he didn't look like he was going to settle, so i left him with DH while i went to bed. I must have been tired 'cause i didn't hear another noise all night. Then i woke at 5am as there was a wet patch on my shirt :o (been feeding too frequently to leak lately). DH said he put Nick in bed at about 10pm and now at nearly 6:30 he has just let out a cry now. I had such a good sleep! Better go get him up now - he will be famished.

I hope this lasts, but for the last 3 nights Isaac has slept from 7pm to 6am:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: ....!

Bel - Glad to hear Sienna is okay.

Miss Ani - hot, hot, hot, I love corsetts and waist cinchers, so does my DH!!!

Lachlans Mum - Isaac is the same, he will 'top up' before his big sleep at night and then again after his big sleep in the morning, usually 2 hours between feeds.

Ellefreya - Isaac loves DS#1 singing 'hot potato' by the Wiggles, I sing softly to him when he is going off to sleep at night if he is having trouble settling.

Stephym02- DS#1 was exactly the same, I spent the first 6 months holding him constantly. But just to let you know, by the time he started sitting up and really interacting, playing with toys, etc, he 'grew out of' being held.

TSP - I had DD when I was 22 and even at that age (and I had been married for 2 years) people judged me because of my age....

Have a great week everyone, DD & DS#1 are back at school today:yelclap: :yelclap: YAY!

EF - I have a friend who had her first at 13 and twins at 16, same father and she is just the best mum. She was off the rails but took up the responsibility and proved everyone that judged, wrong.

Poos are still yellow and runny. Not so seeded mustard looking anymore.

I haven't noticed spicy food affecting Max. I did eat spicy food and curry when I was pregnant, so whether he has a tolerance to it, I don't know.

I have my 6 week check up and pap smear tomorrow. Have tried to talk to DH about contraception, he says 'don't worry, nothing happened last time until you stopped feeding'. Um yeah but we were happy to fall if it did happen. We haven't said yes or no to a third child. So I suppose we'll fly by the wind and if it happens, it's meant to be. Honestly, does that sound crazy?

AF didn't come back until DS1 was 9 months old, so hopeully the same this time

have a great day

Hi, just beeen trying to catch up from the last few days.

DH is back home, we're sorting through our probs to give this one last shot. He knows there will never be another chance for him after this one. It would just be too confusing for the boys. He knows he has hurt me badly, my 'guard' is still up , there will prob be a trust issues for a while but we are hoping by him cutting down and compromising on his party life things will work out. Lack of communucation on his behalf started the downward spiral we just experienced, we've had a 3 hour convo each night since he's been back which is a good start.
We've been together such a long time, just need to do things to re-kindle that spark. Its so easy to get into a rut. Doesn't excuse DH's selfish behaviour though, he needs to keep me and the kids at number one and the bad habits further down his list. His son's should never have to go through this cr*p again.
:fingerscrossed: we can get back to where we were b4 the bad behaviour of DH from the past year.

Jacks mum......ummmm I would prob re-think the contraception. I didn't get my period back til DS1 was 12 months but with DS2 they were back at 7 weeks and this time back at 4 weeks (all fully breast fed). Everyone is different but this is just something to maybe dicuss a little more with your DH.

Hope Sienna is o.k Bel.....sorry I haven't sent you a pm, have been thinking of you.

Your bubbas are all doing so well, wow I'm jealous of you mums with babies sleeping all night !!

Thankyou for all of your support, hugs and letting me vent......:hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Hi everyone!!! Sorry I havn't been around, I've been reading just not posting... long story but I've been a blubbering mess & didn't want to be a wet blanket. Anyway....

Guys a personal question.... How long did it take to get your periods back... for those who have.... I was BF part time i call it but only for the first few weeks as i was giving her more bottles then BF... As i said we are going to try for another bub soon.... as it took so long to get Sienna here...No AF here yet. We wern't going to worry about contraception as we wanted another one straight away so they're close together, but unfortunately I'm on a medication that can cause birth defects (methyltrexate for psoriasis that flared up during the last few weeks of pregnancy) so can't begin TTC again until it is out of my system... about 3 months from last dose which was last week, so that makes it October. Can't wait!!!

I am afraid that I am getting him a bad habit... he seems to always want to be held, and of course not wanting to see bubs upset I am constantly holding him:o. I am just afraid that it is going to cause problems later on.. Any suggestions on what I should do?I do this!!! DH & I bought a swing from Kmart the other day & atm it's the only thing that keeps him quiet in the afternoon whilst I'm cooking dinner etc. The rocker wasn't cutting it at all!!! He loves his gym thingy during the day... our lounge room looks like a childcare centre!!! I'm sure my Mum didn't need all this stuff!!!

Babycakes - Hope it all works out for you, DH & your children.

Carly - Cert III in community services. Been working as an AIN in aged care for a couple of years. My work wanted to put me through a Cert IV but alas I got pregnant (I was already 20 weeks & hadn't told them yet!). What I really want to do is blood collection!!!

Camille - Love Bubs room!!!

Bel - Poor DH!!! He must have felt terrible!!! Your really lovely for not yelling at him... it would be a hard thing not to do in that situation.

Anita - Love the clothes!!! What other great clothing stores online do you frequent?

Ellefreya - Hope things improve at home You're doing a great job & they know it!!! My DD sings to DS (I can't carry a tune!). His favourite that she sings is 'Rock a bye your bear' by the Wiggles. I do the 'Hokey Pokey' for him when I'm dressing him & he loves that.

Kristy - Talking about poos, my DH swears that our DS's smell like KFC!!! And as for farting, DS farts so loud that it sounds like an adult... a bit embarrassing in public "Did you hear that awful Lady blame her baby for farting? Pffft!!!"

As for us, the sleeping over night is going well... still only grabbing a 1/2 hour here & there during the day. We went to the Chiropractor the other day & as soon as we got home DS did this (http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x317/drkustoms/?action=view&current=9weeks010.jpg)for the first time (http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x317/drkustoms/?action=view&current=9weeks006.jpg)!!! He only used to bury his face into the carpet & scream. He must have had something out of align. I thought it was a 1 off, but he did it again today.

Sorry for the long post... a bit of catching up to do!!!:ecomcity:

Thanks for all your kind and encouraging comments ladies!! I love being a young mummy... i felt sad for this girl i saw today she looked like no older then 12 heavily pregnant with a scummy guy holdin her hand her tummy was hanging out of her rugged clothes i felt like going over and talkin to her... its so sad when i see people who are also young but dont have the advantages that i had with the support ect. I regret not talkin to her now... so sad. She looked like she really needed a hug!!

Kaids not been himself today think he is traumatised from the needles had a temp last nite and kept chucking up i gave up on tryin to sleep turned the tv on and just cuddled him for hours he seemed so sad.... made me cry!! Then this morning wen to gym and put him in the childcare there i missed him so much was so excited to see him!! 2nd time iv left him now it was only for about an hour lol..

On a higher note i put heaps of stuff on layby at kmart today for his first christmas! he is going to be so spoilt i know he wont remember but there pretty awesome toys! Oh and i found one of the glowworm teddies that sing i had one wen i was a baby and absolitely adored it so its strange seeing him with one too!!

hey everyone:wave: sorry for not being around, things have been so hectic here. I don't often get time to just stop. We are all sick at the moment, DD spewed all over her cot and her soft toys this morning, it was so yuck and hard to clean up...poor little girl, she is not well.
DS is going really well, he is going to be 8 weeks on Friday and I still haven't taken him (or me) for the 6 week check up:shame: BFing is going really well. We have both kids in cloth nappies and that is working out well too, I feel so proud! Of and we just got approved for a new rental house yesterday so we will be moving in the next couple of weeks, it's a much better ouse for only $5 more and is just up the road.
Sorry for the lack of personals, I haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Hope everyone is doing well:hugs:

bexta - i hope you're okay!! PM me if you need to chat... i don't mind you being a wet blanket!! :hugs:

babycakes - i'm glad that you and DH are talking things through. it might take a while to rebuild that trust, but i hope that it can be done.

camille - i love corsets! i collect them, but i'm a bit wary about wearing one that squeezes my boobs as i don't want to damage my milk ducts and end up with mastitis! a cincher is a nice compromise. :)

little lily has her first cold. :( she snuffled all last night and kept waking herself up (and us!) by sneezing and coughing. i bought her into the bed at about 6am - she wouldn't settle so i fed her. she's been sleep and whingy (often at the same time!), bit clammy... the doctor told me to dose her up with panadol and use the fess for her little nose. poor little thing. she's finally gone down for a nap, although i now need to pump because my boobies are full and sore!! argh!

DH just got home so he is giving me a few minutes to write as i havent been on here in a while...

Babycakes did i read right your back with DH?

Bexta - You mean im not the only one who will be trying for Bub #2 when possible.. my Aunty said to wait a year.. but DH is 33 im 28 and i had 3 M/C's before so i dont think people get what im saying..

Miss Ani - Is lily ok? we got sienna a humidifier to help...

borntobemummy - did i speak to you a long time ago in a chat?????

mysteeq & Three Sweet Peas - Trying not to forget any one so Hi

Ellefreya - As i said age isnt a problem if you love your bubba and surely you do by the sounds of it.. you could be old as i said and not treat bubba right.

Thats all the names i can see on this page... Sienna has her 2 month needles tomorrow and her Scan at Westmead Childrens is on Monday.

Today we had our 2nd class of the new parents group... im not enjoying it as much as i thought as most of them are already apart of a group... and when we spoke today about expectations a few of them complained about parents over stepping the mark.. i told them they should apprieate what they had... as we dont have any...

Hi everyone!!!

Thanks Anita... your 'hug' was much appreciated. I'm getting a bit annoyed with myself, I had my last Boo-Hoo this morning... that's it, no more!!! Love the pics of Bub... she's soooooo little!!!

Mumtobubba - Your bub is tiny too!

Ellefreya - How do you find the creche at the gym? When we go to ours, DS is usually the only one there. The pic you posted with the huge blue eyes was so cute. A very handsome man you have there.

Borntobemummy - Love your new av... very funny!!!

TSP - I know what you mean about it going so quick... DS is 10 weks old today. Do I detect a touch of cluckiness in your post?:D

Babygirl - We have the same cot set! Great pics.. i especially love the last one!!!

Bel - I'm looking forward to ttc in October. Would love to now but have to wait for then. I still havn't got AF yet, so can't start the pill... don't really want to take it as then would have to worry about it wearing off to ttc but a bit too worried about the side affects of the meds I took to have an 'accident'. So told DH last night we will be abstaining as a contraception as we tried condoms last week & didn't have too much sucess:o (sorry if tmi).

I'm with you ladies. We'll be ttc around Oct as well. Told my OB about that and he said not to go on the pill or anyting and just use withdrawal method. Not much luck with that either! Ah well if it happens, it happens.

babycakes what's happening? Hope you are ok.

Miss Ani glad to hear Lily is on the mend and you got your shower (hopefully!)

Ellefreya your boy is too cute!

TSP you sound clucky!

Hope everyone else is well. I love seeing the pics of all the bubs, us May mummy's did so well!

Annalise has her needles on Monday. She was brave, mummy was not. I cried, it was horrible. She's been fine though, I kept checkin her little legs every 5 minutes. I also had the flu shot. I'm so scared after those 3 little kids died over here :crying: Very sad.

Not much else to report. I'm going to take some pics of Miss Anna today, she's 9 weeks, so I'll post later!

Hi everyone.

RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?
Skye goes to bed around 8pm and doesn't wake until 4amish, some nights/mornings she wakes a bit earlier or a bit later but most of the time its 4am then she'll have a feed then sleep until 8am. In the day time she has specific times when she feeds (though its not always the same) and specific 'wake times' (usually when I'm trying to get dinner ready:rolleyes: )

Lately she has been feeding every 2 to 3 hours in the day. Oh well at least she sleeps better at night, I accidently woke her up at 1.30 this morning coz I was coughing and sneezing I tried to get her to go back to sleep but she wanted a bottle, then she was asleep again at 2am and slept until 7.30am.

Bexta- We also got Jayden a swing...and I find that is the only time I can get things done as well, except sometimes he knows so he will intentionally cry his head off ...and as soon as he sees me he goes quiet.

Twitch- I am not looking forward to our needles on Mon, DH is too scared to come...lol... I think I would be able to handle it heaps better than him anyway.

Miss Ani- Jayden has been all snotty for the last week, but is finally getting better. Which means he is also sleeping better/longer.

RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?

Well Jayden definitely has his last feed by about 9/9.30 pm... and is awake anywhere from 5-7am. Usually feeding every three hours through out the day...give or take half an hour to try and get him to bed at the same time every night.
I LOVE all of the pics of the beautiful bubs, I really need to get around to getting some on photobucket so I can post some on here.

Well Jayden slept for 9.5 hrs last night...lets hope we are back to how it was before he got sick. I had a dental appt yesterday and MIL watched him...as soon as I got home he wanted nothing to do with her and every time I spoke he looked for me...she was almost jealous...lol...

"RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?"
We're still all over the place and unfortunately still feeding more at night than during the day. Kai still hasn't quite worked out the night from day thing - that MCHN just gave me phone numbers for verious sleep clinics in this area!
It probably wouldn't be so bad, but Kai also won't sleep on his own for more than 1hour at a time. I am getting over sleeping in his room or on the couch. Missing snuggles with DP a lot!

Stephym02 - Kai is the same, he wants to be held all the time! Bexta - I hope he grows out of it!

Needless to say I am quite jealous of everyone that has a bubba sleeping well and absolutely sympathise with everyone that hasn't.

I can't believe he will be 8 weeks old on Saturday. It feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at the same time. So strange!

What would the side effects be?? I will have to start the 200+ needles again once we are pregnant but our ob said we have the baby recipe down pat now.

I didnt know because of my blood condition i cant take the pill or the depo needle but since we want another soon.. it doesnt matter..

Had our needles today.. just give them panadol before.. it seemed to work.. sienna had lots of needles while in the childrens ward.. this time they did a good job.. we wont go any where but the GP to get them.

Hi All

Sorry for the lack of posts! I have been in to read, but not much time to post!

"RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?" I'd be kidding myself to say that we aren't all over the place! Just when I think we are getting a routine, everything changes, so we are just going with the flow. Ry is such a happy settled baby that I don't really care about being all over the place because she is soooo easy to settle. If she was like DS I'd be pulling my hair out and trying hard to stick to a routine..... I used to just get him settled and it was basically feed time again! Very rarely does that happen with Ry she basically always sleeps between feeds, even if it is just a nap of an hour or less.

Pipsii - I just realised Kai and Ryleigh are born the same day! Doh, I am a bit slow atm.

Miss Ani - I am just waiting for Ry to get a cold, as DH was sick, DS sick atm and I now have a runny nose too..... only a matter of time really

mum2bubba - Ryleigh was doing the same - feeding (or wanting to feed) 2 to 3 hrs during the day - but has been going longer today. I put it down to a growth spurt..... the annoying thing was that she would only have half a bottle and fall asleep

I can't join in with you girls talking about ttc - Ryleigh will be "it" for us...... she is just a beautiful nature that it makes me slightly clucky, but DS is such a terror :devil6: and has been worse since DD arrived..... he keeps us busy and is a good contraceptive!! Actually I could "lend" him to a few of you who are looking for a natural contraceptive

Sorry for people I've missed, but I must got do dinner prep etc whilst DD asleep.

So does Skye (Hayley did this too) I was told if they do this quite often to wake them up by chaning them or unwrapping them or whatever. It usually works but if they are really tired I guess all you can do is let them sleep.

What would the side effects be?? Apparently birth defects/deformalities. I don't want to risk getting pregnant before then as I couldn't face the decision of what to do.

Actually I could "lend" him to a few of you who are looking for a natural contraceptive

Hi Ladies

Sorry I haven't been around much. I seem to get caught up everywhere else and never quite make it to my 'home' with you all... I'll do much better from now on - I promise!!

I hope everyone is doing well and that all our bubbas are growing big and strong! We're not doing too badly. Jedd had his 6 week checkup last Friday (a few days before he was 6 weeks lol) and he was still 30grams short of his birthweight, so this week I have been doing top-up formula in our night time routine and he has been fantastic since! I'm expecting to see a nice big weight gain this week at the CHN.

"RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?"

Even though I'm feeding on demand, Jedd seems to have a quite regular feeding routine, though I'm adding a few in the afternoon to give him a full tummy to get through the night. So our norm routine is this, give or take an hour... 9am; 12noon; 3pm; 5pm; 7pm; 9pm (bottle); 1:30am; 3:30am; 6am. The 5pm&7pm are shorter feeds, and the 1:30am&3:30am are short feeds too.

Hubby has been away since Monday and he gets home either tomorrow or Saturday - so fingers crossed its tomorrow! THen he is away next week again - and then again for 3 weeks in August. I have to admit, I'm coping better than I had anticipated so I'm quite proud of myself!

My baby massage classes begin Thursday week - I'm so excited about it! I cant wait to learn how to chill Jedd out when he is distressed.

I do have one question though. Most mums I know seem to get really uptight and stressed out when their babies cry. Which is a good thing, cause it means they love them and want to make them happy etc etc. But when Jedd screams blue murder I dont find myself getting anxious. I can even finish what I'm doing first before tending to him (I only do this when I know what he is crying for). Is there something wrong with me? Or am I just intune to my babies needs? Should I be rushing to his side at every whinge and whine? Or is being a bit more relaxed better?

I don't rush to every whinge & whine (DD is another story!!!), but I suppose even when he is screaming the house down I can sort of judge what he wants & the urgency of it... like a pain cry makes me jump up straight away. Good luck with the weight gain this week. Are you using the formula you bought earlier? LOVE your av btw!!!

11-07-2007, 21:35
hey pink lady... your doing a fantastic job and no, if u know WHY he is cryin and you can tell the urgency then i think its great you dont get frazzled.. as my mum says ' sometimes babies just CRY'. lol im pretty bad cause aalliyah doesnt cry unless there is something wrong. she'll only CRY when she's in pain and even then its not excessively loud or urgent sounding. PS. hope he has a nice FAT weightgain:thumbsup:

elle: hugs honey. i hope its nothing to do with emrah...ill be seeing u tomorrow and we'll burn some fat:D YAY US!!!!

ladies:
me and aalliyah have been geting on famously  she is such a good lil girl..

our general routine is 6/7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3-4pm, 7pm, 9pm, 10:30pm then through till 6/7 so she feeds alot during the day and no real NIGHT feeds... i get a solid block of sleep at night which is fine by me!

aalliyah is mostly breastfed but lately ive been giving her a formula top up of a night 30-90mls and she absoloutely LOVES it. she is so content and happy after it... puts herself to sleep within 3 minutes of burping. i am aiming to give her most feeds till three and a half months then be giving her two or three feeds at four months and be fully formula by five months and solids at 6months... but we'll see... everyday she gets even a drop is better than nothing... im already so proud of how far i've come. but we're happy and thats all that matters.

i have my post natal check up on friday and a pap smear which im not particularly looking forward to but i am in a weird way... i want it out of the way and out of my mind. so i have that on friday.. cant wait to show her off to all the clucky ladies at reception lol. (* not to mention anxious women in the waiting room lol*)

feeling really good... will be back for more personals later.

good morning!!

first of all...
happy 2 months to my little lilster!!

well, didn't get my shower yesterday... ah well. had a nice long one last night to make up for it!!

bexta - i 'boo-hoo' sometimes as well... just when i get over-tired (much like DD!). and i just realised i didn't give you any other websites where i 'shop'... i do ebay a LOT. otherwise i love:
gallery serpentine (http://www.galleryserpentine.com.au)
daddy-o (http://www.daddyos.com)
drac-in-a-box (http://www.dracinabox.com)
route 66 (http://www.route66.com.au)
or i either do a spot of sewing myself!!

twitch - awww... i'm hoping i can hold it together when lily has her needles!! nothing can be as bad as her guthrie though, when they kept pumping her leg to get as much blood out of her heel as possible! :(

steph - glad to hear little jayden is better... it's horrible when they're all snotty.

pipsii - i hope that things work out for you with kai and his sleeping! lily was a terrible night sleeper for some weeks, but only recently has started distinguishing night from day. i find taking her outside for a while during the day seems to help. good luck!

lachlan's mum - hopefully ryleigh's cold passes quickly if and when she gets it. i'm also not getting in on the ttc talk... at least not for a few years.

ellefreya - hope you're having a better day today.

PL - hey, girl!! good to see you back! good luck with jedd's weight gain!! lily is finally putting on weight... she put on 300g in just 1 week!! i am yet to weigh her this week. our goal is for her to reach 5kg in another week-and-a half.

RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?
lily wakes up between 7 & 8am.. has a nap around 9-9.30. but then it's a bit free-fall from there. i'm trying to work out her sleeping pattern at the moment. in the evenings peter baths her at about 7-ish then i feed and put her down at 8.30pm... although i often have to resettle her again at about 10. but i'm not getting too hung up on it all, as she is only 8 weeks old.

well that was a big fat post!! i better go get missy ready to go out shopping. i need a new black pencil skirt and fishnets for our night out on saturday!!

PL - I feel that I have a big boofer here, Max has put on 450g in the last week. He's now 6.2kg so nearly 2kg weight gain in 6 weeks

Baby girl - I had my 6 week check up yesterday and pap smear and I said to the Dr, that was the best pap smear I've ever had. she said it's because everything is still loose. Hope yours is as good (hope that doesn't sound wrong)

not much else happening, both boys sleeping at the moment so off to hang out washing and bake cake for DH lunch.

Hope all are well

RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?

9.00am wake for the day... down for cat nap around 11-12 by about 2-3pm she goes down for a good hour maybe half and half, she has a cat nap around tea time and then stays up until 10pm when she goes down, occasionaly 11pm and sleeps anywhere from 5 hours - 7.5 hours, doing alot more 7.5 blocks last few days which is great!

RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?

Sam Wakes around 7.30 -8am has a feed and stays awake for around 1 hours then back to sleep till his next feed at 11.30 wake for about an hour then back to sleep till next feed at 3.30 probably awake for an hour then back to sleep till next feed at 7.30pm awake till next feed might have a cat nap, feed at 11 - 11.30pm sleeps till morning, about 8 hours.

Well it sounds like all the May bubs are doing really well. I hope those of you that aren't getting much sleep that things soon change for you I can sympathise as my DS1 was like that.

Well I'm feeling pretty low at the moment :gloomy: things are pretty hard financially this month and DH and I have been fighting the kids still being off school is driving me insane we've been couped up all holidays because I can't afford the petrol to go anywhere it's getting to me so much that i just feel sick to the stomach and want to :crying: all the time. I just feel that no matter what we do things never seem to get any better. And to top it off I'd e-mailed a photo of myself and Sam to some family and friends and my Dad and an Aunt and one of my friends all said I looked like I had lost more weight, they really made me feel a bit better and I was telling DH about it and he shook his head and said no you haven't so it's obvious that he just thinks I'm still a fat blob I'd always thought he was so understanding about my weight but now I know what he has always thought. It's totally devastated me.

Anyway sorry about the me post I'm a really need to pull myself together.

Wow - so much to read and then not enough time to write. Oh well, I'll see how I go.

"RQOTD: Do your babies feed/sleep at specific times in the day/night or are they just all over the place?"

We have a what I like to call a "flexible routine". Generally we have our first feed of the day at around 6.30am. Then 9.30am, 12.30pm, 3.00pm, 6.30pm and then 9pm/9.30pm. It varies a bit depending on little miss (she's been feeding every two hours durng the day for the past few days) but our last night time feed is always the same.

Pipsii - I know what you mean about not believing how fast it has gone. Tehya will be 8 weeks on Monday and I feel as though she is growing up too quickly.

Elle-Freya - hope you are okay. I noticed your signature has changed, doesn't have DP on it anymore....is this why you are upset? :hugs: to you (and BTW your little man is GORGEOUS!)

Pink Lady - :fingerscrossed: Jedd puts on weight. I really don't know how you manage to cope so well with your DH being away. I miss my DH terribly just when he goes off to work for the day. You're a strong woman! Also, I too am like you and don't get stressed shen Tehya cries, though it rarely happens. I've surprised myself at how relaxed I feel - I don't think it is a bad thing at all.

Babygirl - You sound like you're doing a great job. Don't worry about the Pap Smear....they are not that bad at all!

Miss Ani - I love that website - Daddyos. I'm tempted to buy one of the dresses on there..... DH will kill me if I spend the money though....LOL. I'm really thrilled for you that Lily is starting to sleep better! I also think taking Tehya outside during the day helps.

Fozzie - Oh dear. Big :hugs: to you. I bet you're looking great. Hubby's can be so insensitive sometimes and not even mean it! You just have to remember as well, you've had three kids, one of them only a few months ago....
I know how hard things can be financially....that is why I still have to work p/t. I wish I didn't but we don't really have a choice. And now DH is thinking of a career change which will DRASTICALLY drop his income so its going to be tough - but worth it.
Keep your chin up honey.

To everyone else who I have forgotten, I'm sorry! Hope you are all doing well.

Well, as for us, things are going really well. Tehya is such a happy little bub and is always smiling. She sleeps well, generally 9.30ish - 6.30ish. She is just the light of my life and I LOVE being a mummy!

Today I got my hair cut and went to the toy sale at K-Mart and put a few things away from Santa.

Having some friends over tomorrow for an informal mothers group....

Well, got to go tidy the house.... womans work is never done.

I am the same with Skye, I think its because shes my second whereas with Hayley I'd pick her up all the time and every little whimper. You are not a bad mother at all. If she is beside herself then I will pick her up and give her a cuddle but if its only a little cry here and there I just call out to her to let her know that I am still there. I use control crying with Skye and (when its bedtime) and so far its been fine, there is no wrong or right way to parent (well unless you're abusing yor kids which I'm pretty sure you're not)

HAve I lost all the baby weight? As soon as Sam was born I was less than I was when I conceived (that's what 5 weeks in hospital does for you:laughing: ) but being overweight in the first place it doesn't make any difference I still look like a heffalump.

Not as much as I'd like him too, he won't change her nappies, won't bath her only feeds her if I tell him (and even thats too hard  ) I'm the one that has to get up at all hours. One of the reasons I chose to bottle feed is because I though it'd give him a chance to help but I guess I was kidding myself, hopefully he will start helping more as she gets older. He DOES help with Hayley a bit more now though.

When I was pregnant I thought 'yep, when baby comes along, he can feed her when he gets home from work (all he has to do is sit on the couch and watch tv) while I get dinner on or get Hayley ready for bed OR I'd feed Skye and he'd bath Hayley or whatever, but it seems I'm doing it all at once and the only time he'll feed her is if I go and get a bottle and say "can you feed her while I do dinner/bath Hayley/clean the house"or whatever.

No!.. But then again I honestly didn't expect too much...as he never really helped out before ... (except he was a little better when I was pregnant and not well). I really don't mind doing everything with bub..or even in the house...but he LOVES his PS2...so every free minute I get I am cleaning house while he is playing games and not helping out at all.... A bit of a sensitive matter for me too Camille...bet you couldn't tell...lol...

As for the weight... I lost all the baby weight plus 2 kgs within two weeks of birth but I too am a heffalump...lol

..........the only time it does is if were out an he gets like it then ppl look at me like ohh young mother cant control her child lol...

Ellefreya - I get this too! but with DS (hasn't happened yet with bubs - and I am NOT a young mum! I once said to an old lady who was giving me the evil eye "yes, I CAN hear him, I am just choosing to ignore him" and as for your not so DP, sounds like you will be better off without him, hard as that might seem atm :hugs: to you

PL but yes, I am pretty relaxed, well more so this time, when Ry cries (but having said that she is not really a crying baby) - often I am busy with DS so she kinda has to wait! poor thing :(

i 'boo-hoo' sometimes as well... just when i get over-tired (much like DD!)

Hey I thought that was a pre-requisite to being a mum!

I have about 1.5 kgs to go to "pre-Ryleigh" weight :smiliedance: ..... BUT I still have "post-Lachie" weight! not that I ever expect to get that small again.... but I want to loose about another 5kg once I loose the next 1.5 - so about 6.5 to go.

hey hey hey....

dp does help me so much more than i thought he would cause i wasnt sure how he would handle the reality of aalliyah... and i have to say he just cant get enough of her... he doesnt really change nappies but he'll always snatch her off me in bed and cuddle her... and take her when i have to do someting... he loves feeding her her nightime bottle:yes: tells her stories. so cute!!!

i put on 18 kilos while pregnant and lost 17 within 48 hours and have since lost a further 1.8... still 10/15 till my goal weight.

ellefreya and i joined fernwood and we did a massive session today.. i pushed myself pretty hard! still got more in me tho. i love the gym... and feeling the good burn knowing im working muscles lol. sore tonight tho.

Last night we tried a different formula to our usual S26 and gave Novacol a go. Wasn't too bad - but Jedd didnt sleep for as long. So tonight I had a sample sachet of Karicare which we're trying - and so far so good! He has been out like a light for about 15 mins now, so I'll give him another 15 or so and then get some zzz's myself.

Cheers for the reassurance that my lack of haste to get to Jedd when he is crying doesn't make me a bad mummy... I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't do it!

BabyGirl - You are so lucky to have Aalliyah sleep for so long at night! I'm jealous!!! Oh - and I had my pap smear on Monday and it wasn't anywhere NEAR as bad as the c/sect. I mean - I've had a gazillion of them before - I was expecting this one to be different. You'll be fine! Oh - and how do you find Fernwood? I'm thinking of joining cause they have the creche - but there is a Fitness First closer to where I live that also have a creche... I'm more likely to use the one that is close by! lol

Ellefreya - We haven't really met yet, have we? lol - well I'm Ally, I'm 22 years old, was TTC for close to 2 years, but had two ectopic pregnancies, my husband is in the navy and I live in Sydney. Oh - and my beautiful Jedd is 6 and a half weeks old :) You sound really nice and like your a natural Mum! I cant wait to get to know you better.

Kristy - How are you doing? All good now?

Miss Ani - Ohhh - pencil skirt and fishnets! Sounds HOT! Where are you off to? I'm SO jealous! I dont have anyone here who I would trust Jedd with so who knows when my next night out will be... bugger!

Jacks Mum - Im so jealous of your boofer... I'm really hoping Jedd has put on at least 150grams this week; though I've been giving him a bottle of formula every night as well as his normal breastfeed, so hopefully that has done the trick.

Fozzie - :hugs: I hope everything gets better for you. If its any consolation, hubby and I aren't as 'close' as we were when I was pregnant. As much as I try to keep things intimate its a bit of a downer when the last 3 times we've tried to 'do the deed' we've been interrupted by cries. And the weight thing - if you feel like your losing it and feel good, then that is all that matters! I was o'weight when I fell pg, and then I put on 30kg while pg! So far I've lost 17kg, so I hate to think how much I still have to go... Never mind - I'll get there eventually.

Lejay - I guess when hubby is away I just do it cause I have to; I have no choice. I actually quite like it when he is away now. Its easier to stay in routine, and to do what I like, when I like. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE it when he is home and would give anything to have him home all the time; but I can definitely see the advantages both ways LOL.

RQOTW - Is your DH/DP helping out as much as you expected he would?
When he is home he always does as much as he can - nappy changes are his specialty!!

Mum2Bubba - YAY Congrats on Skye's 2 month birthday LOL

Gawsh - I wasn't expecting my post to be THIS long... Ahhh well - I had a lot to catch up on hehehe... Jedd is being weighed tomorrow so fingers crossed for a good weight gain!!! :fingerscrossed:

Oh - and I forgot to mention - 2 weeks ago we got some professional photos of Jedd done. Well - I wasn't planning on it, they were in the shopping centre and he happened to be sleeping at the time. I'm glad he was in a semi-decent jumpsuit!

I just HAVE to show him off :D

BOO!!! Just thought I'd scare all of you on this Friday 13th!!!

happybirthday 3 months to Ebony & 2 months for Skye.

Camille - we've had a growth spurt this week too & DS is 10 weeks.

Ellefreya - looks like bunny was enjoying the dummy too!!!

Babygirl - keep up the good work at the gym, I love that 'burn' feeling too.

Pink Lady - I didn't know you were 22!!! My Dad was in the Navy (CPO) for 20 years. It was a great lifestyle for a kid... we always lived in Navy accomodation so there was always heaps of other kids for a lonely only child like myself to play with. The Christmas parties were awesome!!!

As for us, nothing on today... we did have a Bubhub meet to go to but it got cancelled .

Have a great day everyone!!!

RQOTW - Is your DH/DP helping out as much as you expected he would?

DP has always been helpful around the house, and after having DD he's been even more so. :) he also loves cuddling and playing with her.

not the best night with lily, but i keep reminding myself that she still isn't well.

i've swapped from s26 for her formula comps to bellamy's organic on recommendation from a friend. it smells a lot better - not as chemical.

So what milestones have our May babies reached so far??

Jedd gave me a HUGE smile this morning and often coo's while I'm changing his nappy... I think he is trying to communicate with the teddy bear pictures on the wall next to the change table LOL... Funny lil boy!

Oh - great news - he put on 140grams this week :smiliedance: I was kind of hoping it would be a little bit more than that, but ahh well. I really thought that with the bottle feed's at night it would make a difference - but its exactly the same as exclusively breast feeding. I'll see how he goes this fortnight and then decide what I want to do. Maybe I could give him bottles at night but breast during the day? Not sure what to do... He is healthy though - they're still gains, albeit small, he is still gaining nonetheless, he is weeing, pooing, crying and sleeping. So I'm not TOO worried, but still kind of want him to be putting on more...

Hubby comes home tonight for 2 nights, then he is gone again next week, home again for a week and a half then gone for 3 weeks. I'll be headed to VIC for a week while he is gone - I cant wait!

Hey ladies!

PL your little man is so cute! In fact, all the May babes are, I love the pics.

Fozzie :hugs: Hope you're feeling a bit better.

Milestones - Annalise coos a lot and talks heaps. She smiles all the time too. She is in a FOUL mood today, I don't know what's going on. Yesterday her routine was all over the show as we had places to be so that might be it. I dunno, she's feeding every hour or so and won't settle. I've just left her grizzling in her basinette, there's just nothing I can do to settle her.

I am taking her to the chiropractor today, I was reading someones post about it and thought I migt give it a go as she hates tummy time.

RQOTD - DH helps out heaps at home, he always has which is great.

Argh, the grizzling has turned into full on crying, gotta go!

As for milestones... Jayden only smiles every now and then when changing nappy... but coos all the time..and talks a lot as well.. He rolls on to his tummy from back every night when we give him a massage (has been since 8 days old) He's had a very strong neck from birth.

we've had an unsettled day today... i THINK she is starting to enjoy my milk less and less since she has been having formula bottles... she only REALLY enjoys my early morning feed and the one after that...i think its because i am always FULL at those feeds and the other ones she just 'snacks' at... so im going to get pumping and try making some of those lactation bosting cookies... i want to make it to 3/4 months breastfeeding... but if it fails then i have already well and truely surpassed my expectations of breastfeeding and would be proud of myself either way.

good morning!!

we had a great night up until 5am this morning, when poor little lily couldn't breathe through her nose. she finally settled back down an hour later. it breaks my heart to see her so miserable!

as for milestones:
she smiles (especially at people we meet when we're out and about... little social butterfly!), tracks anything that is waved in front of her face and will follow people's faces, coos and squeals, kicks at toys to make noise and can hold her head steady when i have her 'sitting' on my hip. she has a giggle just busting to get out... but not quite yet!

Hi ladies!

We had another good night last night. Tehya slept from 9.30 - 6am, had a feed and went back to sleep until 8.30.

DH, the two dogs, Tehya and I have been for a huge walk this morning and then to see my Grandparents! Huge morning, and Tehya smiled the whole time. She just LOVES being out in the sunshine, even if it is freezing cold. I like to think that the fresh air does her wonders....especially considering that we have the heater going most of the time...

Milestones:
Tehya can hold her head up very well. She talk a lot and is always smiling. Her fists are always in her mouth and she follows them with her eyes, she follows objects and Mamma's voice, and she is really busting to get out a giggle!

As for DH helping:
He is great! I am spoiled. He will do housework, change nappies, he baths Tehya every night (that is his thing), and will make dinner if I ask (though he HATES cooking!). I am very lucky!

DH is back at home but sadly its only for the kids atm, he says he has no feelings for me still :crying:. I really don't believe (or maybe can't?) as I think his issues (mainly his feelings for me) are from his combining anti depressants and alcohol , it can be pretty nasty according to what I've been reading. Today, I'm just not coping, kids are being soooo naughty, I just can't do it  DH is having more "time out" for the next 2 days.........he doesn't seem to realise I need bl**dy time out too.
Sorry, this is the main reason I haven't been posting...can't seem to stop venting.

I'm wondering this too! What are you ladies doing to get your bubs to sleep through the night? The longest I've gotten was 4hrs - but its usually a 3hour block, followed by 2x2hrs.

Milestones... I've gotten 2 huge smiles so far and I've heard a few coo's - I cant wait for Jedd to become a bit more interactive.

I'm having funny feelings about breastfeeding. He takes so LONG to have a good feed - at least an hour - but bottle feeding is so quick. I've made it this far and I have no real reason apart from the time factor to stop bf'ing. My supply seems okay (since I've been eating these lactation cookies) he is having small weight gains. The time factor is the biggest thing. Any ideas on how I can get him to feed faster?? :detective:

fozzie
15-07-2007, 09:35
Babycakes - You vent away all you like sorry you seem to be having such a bad time.

Pink Lady - Jedd was born when Samuel should have been and I'd been worrying a little about his development but I have to adjust his age to when he should have been born so he'd be 6 weeks. Samuel is smiling and cooing too and also bats at his toys and starting to trach his toys. Sorry I haven't any advice with the bf.

Anyway hope you are all well we are doing fine Samuel is a little angel and sleeps at least 8 hours a night and also alot in the day too (about time one of my kids did  ) the problem is that if I don't stay up and wake him up for his last feed anytime between 10.30pm - 12.00am then he only ends up having 4 bottles at 150ml a day which isn't enough. I need him to wake a bit earlier in a morning I think so then it's not so late at night.

:D Just answered my own question.

I'm feeling a bit better at the moment too I've just got to get on with it and things will sort out.

Take care

Hi everyone.

How are we all today? Good?

Skye slept 10 hours last night. :smiliedance: (8.30pm to 6.30pm) then had another feed at 8.15am.
I still have to take her to get her needles, hopefully I can do that Monday.

For those asking about how we get our babies to sleep through, I can only speak for myself but I found that if I read her tired signs and make sure she is fed well in the day (even if that means feeding every 2 hours if she wants) and has enough sleep in the day she sleeps longer at night because (as you probably already know, the more overtired a baby is the harder they are to get to sleep), also a relaxing bath helps, though I don't bath her every night. I do controlled crying too but thats not for everyone. Also make sure shes not over stimulated before bed (feed her in the bedroom with the light off so that way she knows its bedtime) You could MAYBE give a bottle of formula before bed if you breast feed, I know this helped with Hayley (though she was a pretty good sleeper anyway). Hope I helped.

Fozzie - glad to hear you're feelng better, I've been thinking of you.

And you too BABYCAKES :hugs: I know what a baaaad mix alcohol and anti depressants can be, trust me. Sounds like your DH and mine are very similar.

Welcome back Janie!

Thanks for the chiro tip, Bexta! Annalise lifted her head and chest off the floor for the first time the night we got home from the chiro :smiliedance: I was sooo proud of her. I keep giving her tummy time now, just so I can see her do it

PL - Anna used to feed for an hour or more at a time. Now I feed her for half an hour on one boob when she wakes up which sees her through her play time, then another half an hour on the other boob just before she goes back down. It works for me, took a while to get her into it and it's not saving any time but it does help with the "mega feeds". Good luck.

Not much else to report. Had FIL's 50th b'day last night and the kids there kept waking Annalise up by going into the room she was in to look at her. I left early as she was getting way over stimulated and I was p!ssed off that step MIL kept trying to pick her up. Some ppl. Apart from that we are in a great routine and I am just loving this whole motherhood thing. Can't wait for the next one. Oooh, maybe I can. Just a few more months...

Have a great day ladies !

janie - good to see you back!! as for sleeping, lily usually has a 5hour block at night, wake and feed, then another 3-4 hours. she started doing this at about 6 weeks. i find going outside with her at least once a day. her night routine of bath-booby-bed seems to work really well too.

PL - have you considered consulting an ABA consellor?

we weighed lily on friday and she's put on 220g in the last week! :smiliedance: and last night mum watched her while DP and i went out for a few hours. so it's been a lovely last day or two.

lily is still snotty and has a hoarse little cry. but she doesn't seem to miserable and doesn't have a temp. hopefully she's ok by tuesday so i can take her for her immunisations.

Mum2Bubba - I couldnt agree more, I think this is what made Isaac turn the corner and is now sleeping 8pm - 6am every night.

as many feeds during the day as he wants (yep, most are 2 hours apart, he now has 6 bottles a day of about 150ml);
good sleeps during the day (even if he only sleeps for 40 minutes at a time between feeds);
a good bedtime routine in a relaxed, dimly lit and quiet environment (what works for us is feed, bath, story, quiet cuddle and then bed); and
formula sure does help.I have just started controlled crying this last 4 days. I didnt think he was old enough at first but we gave it a go as I was having to rock him to sleep every night and it was taking up to 1.5 hours to get him down. Now I put him down, put his dummy in and leave him for 2 minutes. Then I come in and put his dummy back in (he usually spits it out) and give his a nose a little stroke and leave again for 2 minutes. I sometimes have to do this 5 or 6 times before he goes off to sleep.

It is definately worth it even though it is very hard to listen to him cry. He now knows that when he goes to bed he has to go to sleep and over the last few nights the amount of time he takes to settle is getting smaller and smaller.

Hope this helps everyone!:D

Hmm - I do pretty much all of that - except for controlled crying. And I give a bottle of formula at night time before bed too... I have a thread here (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=1698028) about whether or not I should wake him for his night routine... what do you think?

as many feeds during the day as he wants (yep, most are 2 hours apart, he now has 6 bottles a day of about 150ml);Maybe I should try feeding every 2hrs during the day. At the moment I feed on demand - usually every 3hours - sometimes a little longer... Cant hurt, right?

Pink Lady: If he wakes up feed him. Skye sometimes sleeps through (from 8.30pm to about 4 or 5am) but other times she wakes around midnight for a feed (then sleeps from 12.30am to about 7 or 8am) Don't wake him if he is peacefully sleeping, just wait for him to tell you if hes hungry or not.

 Girls! Sorry I have been MIA fromt his thread for a little while. It jsut seems to be taking so much time now with Nick, DD and staying on top of all the other stuff. For you girls with more than 2 - i take my hats off to you - how on earth do you do it. I have only read back through the last page sorry - i have a half hour show on TV for DD while i catch up & have a shower. Hope everyone is all doing well.

The topic seems to be sleeping! Nick has had 5nights now of sleeping from about 9pmish through to 5/6amish!! YAY!! Although we were out all day yesterday & he woke at 2:30 this morning.

PL - on the taking so long to BF - Nick will still have 1hr feeds sometimes, but some are 20-35mins - so if you wait until he is a little older maybe Jedd's feeds will become shorter. DD was never much of a comfort sucker & by 6months, most feeds (except first morning & last night) were over in about 10-15mins.

Nick was an amazing 6.43kg on Thursday! So coming from a 2.6kg birth weight, my little man is huge - staarting to wear some 00 suits even. DD wasn't wearing them until 6months, so i am definately noticing a BIG size difference.

I'll try & make sure i pop in more often, i am missing you girls heaps - and it's so cool hearing about all the other bubbas doing all the smiling/laughing & talking. Nick is a real talker now, he'll sit here & goo/gurgle & laugh at me now, after most of the day feeds - it is just priceless.

I too have been missing in action, it's just so hard for me to get the time to sit and read through all the posts so I'm just going to say a quick HI then go back and read through what I've missed.

Ebanee is getting so big now. She's only 7 weeks old but I already feel like she's growing up too fast.

Milestones
Smiling, Gurgling, reaching for objects, roll from side to tummy, following objects with eyes, turning towards voices, holding head up approx 5 secs during tummy time

sleeping
longest stretch at night - 8 hrs (only happened once so far)
daytime sleeps - 3 hrs
usually self settles during the day, not so great at night

feeding
still bf-ing. Daytime anywhere from 2-7 hrs on demand
afternoon 2 hrly until 8pm
night - 1am - 5.30am

we had some family portraits done last weekend and they turned out really nice. Once DD1 goes for a nap I'll post some of the favourites on here.

We are finally back in our bedroom, having completed the painting and cupboard building. It seems to have improved relations between DH and I. Finally got him to open up a bit over the weekend and had a D&M so hopefully we can start getting back to normal soon. Mind you he hasn't had any "smoke" this week so thats probably helped. I just hope it stays that way cause when he's on it he's snappy & grumpy and always falls asleep on the couch instead of coming to bed, then sleeps through his alarm clock.

OK enough whingeing from me. I'll do personals once I read back the 15 or so pages that I'm behind.

staarting to wear some 00 suits even. DD wasn't wearing them until 6months, so i am definately noticing a BIG size difference. Same here. DD was getting into her 00's at 6mnths-ish, but DS is starting to wear them now. 000 Wondesuits don't fit anymore so he's in the 00's, but other 00 stuff is still a bit big for him but we just roll up the sleeves & fold the cuffs up.

Anita - Hope Lily's nose has unclogged itself.

Hi janie!

Babycakes - Hope things improve.

Foz - Glad you're feeling better!

Twitch - So glad that the Chiro helped... I was a bit sceptical myself but the improvement in DS's tummy time was amazing. I was proud as punch the 1st time he did tummy time too!!!

Donna - Glad your back in your own room!!! I bet you slept like a log & woke up wondering where you were!!!

Have a great day everyone... BBL!!!

Ry is now in 00 wondersuits too! can't believe how quick she is growing!

PL - I agree with mum2bubba - I have never been one to wake a baby! With DS I tried the whole dream feed thing but it didn't make a difference, so this time I am just going with DD's flow....

So what milestones have our May babies reached so far??

Smiling, talking heaps, really alert and interested in surroundings and people, recognises mum and dad't voice (will look in that direction etc), interested in her toys hanging in her room, and starting to self settle more and more.

I've missed a little too much to do personals.... sorry. My computer is playing up so don't get on as often as I'd like.

We've had a fantastic few nights with Ry, She has slept from 6/6.30 pm to 3.30/4 am (usually 4), then down again till 7 ish - but it was 9 am this morning!!

She is having her needles on Wednesday so hopefully that won't make her unsettled :fingerscrossed:

Bye for now

 Hi everyone

I'm still around, reading everyones posts....
Jacob is going great, he had his needles last week( a little late as we were on holidays) and went ok, its so sad to hear them cry like that.
No high temps or anything, just a case of the runs(if thats possible) from the rotavirus vaccine. He was a little unsettled for a couple of days but we are back to normal now.
Here (http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/sammijane_01/P7150113.jpg) is a piccie of my boy.
My 3 boys (http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/sammijane_01/P6280090.jpg) Thats a piccie of all of them together.
Jacob is nearly into 0's in the wondersuits, his length is where we are having problems. But most other things he is in 00's and 000's still.
I will apoligise now for no personals as i just cannot remember everything.
Fozzie.... How is Sam going on his Formula now. Hope all is well.

I am hoping everyone else is doing ok and enjoying thier bubs!

Bel Glad to her Sienna is going well. Well done!

PL - Hope Jedd went down ok, sounds like he's a bit all over the show. I do agree with mum2bubba, let sleeping babies lie. I used to wake Annalise up for feeds and all it did was get her into a bad routine of waking up when she would have slept through.

Good to see you back Charlismum (your boy's gettin' chubby!) and Donnanani (glad to hear things are looking up with your DH).

Lachlans Mum it sounds like you're getting heaps more sleep - YAY! Go Ry!

Hi Bexta, Miss Ani and SammiJane and everyone else

Well, Annalise is going great still. She still sleeps through the night and has a good routine in the day, when I don't take her out and about that is. We've got my BIL's engagement on Saturday night so she's staying with my mum and I might just have a few chardies I think!

Hope you all have a good nights sleep - oh speaking of which, we just bought a KING size bed WOO HOO! We're both over 6 foot tall and DH is rather large-ish so it'll be great to not get shot out of bed every time he rolls over. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Take care all.

hello... I think you've all gone to bed...i've been looking back over the last few pages of posts, looking at all the lovely pics of smiling babies... how cute is the 7-12 week stage... their faces are all changing

i've finally got to have a shower... nice and relaxed
hubby is in perth until friday so tonight i am sleeping in ds1 bed and he is sleeping in what he calls his boat which is the pull out couch turned into the wall...
we three slept on the pull out couch last night, all snuggled up together, the boys slept through the night... i had a horrid sleep.
i've done my tax return... very happy with return $$$ hoping to get some major concreting done with the funds... :fingerscrossed:

my ds1 starts swimming lessons for the 1st time tomorrow. I'm nervous!! I never really got into swimming... I think I had a bad experience during grade prep swimming lessons... maybe
he is SOOOOOOO excited.
ds2 is a dream... he has a really set routine of sleep, wake with a little waaahhhh cry, smiles and cooes, feeds usually 10 - 20 minutes every 2.5 hrs during the day and two at night maybe 3am then maybe 5am... very cute as I change his bum... generally one big runny poo every 2nd day now... caught me out a few times and I've had to change all his outfit. happily though cause he is growing out of all his 000 and I want him to wear some a few more times... he is into some 00 already... mostly the jumpsuits with the feet.
I've been using my 2 peapod mc pocket n as well as old style towelling ones during the day when we are home and the naty ones at night. i think the naty ones are great, like the idea that they are made out of maize, and they last all night... sometimes 10 hours if i dont change him between 9pm and 9am.
my parents have been away for the last 2 weeks, they are home today. I'm so glad I've been missing them.
I've been organising my ds1 4 yo birthday party. he keeps saying he wants today to be his birthday...
he is getting to big too quick.
got to go to bed... here's some pics http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q112/kas_chat/?action=view&current=efeba719.pbw
take care all and expecially big :hugs: for anyone with partners away on work or partners who are just being NOBS!!!

Been MIA, computer was riddled with viruses :banghead: And I am starting work tomorrow night for GOOD this time :p Glad that is all sorted out and don't have to be inducted all over again!

How are we all?

We are going to have to work on bottles now, cold turkey for Ebsie tomorrow night, I'm going to feel awful but I guess I won't be here to hear or see her fret so going to be harder for Justin.

We bought a swing, a fisher price natures touch it is sooooooo beautiful!!! Plays waterful music/birdies chirping and crickets cricketing lol!

13 weeks tomorrow

She is getting so vocal, loved shopping the other day, layed in the trolley seat laughing and gurgling and all that!

Hi girls hope you are all well.

Good luck with going back to work Kristy hope Justin doesn't have too hard a time.

Well it's snowing here this morning so i'm not going anywhere except school today.:snow:

Here's a pic. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r109/fozzie2007/Outtheback.jpg

Poor Samuel looks like he's starting with a cold he's been really snuffly and finding it hard to breathe so I've been and got some fess little noses see if that will help although he's asleep and settled at the moment so I'll leave him till later. I worry a bit about it going to his chest because he was prem he's more likly to have problems even though he didn't at birth.

I thought I'd put a pic of me and Sam together it's not too bad we had just been for a walk.

Hi all,

I don't have time to write personals but wanted to pop in and say G'day.

tehya is still sleeping beautifully, last night it was 9pm - 6.20am. Lovely! We let her settle herself at night - though only if she is chatty - if she cries I will go to her. Sometimes she will wake in the night and start chatting to herself, but then goes back to sleep 5 mins later. Its so cute.

We went to my cousins b'day on the weekend. It was a 21st so lots of "doof doof" music (he he he - I'm not that old....) really loud. Tehya was such a little angel and was passed around so much. She was so chilled out and then fel asleep! I was in shock. When we got home I didn't think she would sleep that well.....but she slept from 11pm - 7am.

Fozzie - where do you live? That snow is amazing. Its freezing in Melbourne today. Bad wind, rain, hail and 11 degrees. No going outside for us.

Hope everyone is doing well - all your little bubba;s are just beautiful!!!!
