I had a c/s with spinal block 10wks ago. And im still in quite alot of pain from it, i get pins and needles up and down my spine and the pain is so bad it makes me irritable at everyone around me and im so emotional and teary. Im also getting really bad period type pain with no period as yet ( this pains been going on for about 4-5wks)

has anyone gone thru this??
Do u think the period type pains related to the back pain?

Im going to make an appt at GP as i thought hyrdotherapy, oral pain killers and heat paks were working but they arent.

Hi, I know what you are going through. I had pain in my back for a long time after both of my c/s. (not the pin's & needles tho). I found that fatigue made it so much worse. Try to get as much rest as you can. I used a heat wheat bag on my back when i sat down which helped relax the muscles. And also make sure you're not bending over too much. I was leaning down to change baby at a change table that was way too low, so be aware of that too. As far as the period like pain goes, that's normal It happens when your uterus is contracting to it's original size it can be worse during breast feeding because of the hormones your body releases. Having said that still go and see your doctor. All the best.

Lis thanks for your reply. I thought about what u said about the change table, and realised i am standing at a strange angle when standing at it. maybe cuz im tall-ish. so i stopped using the change table as much and yep havent had as much pain. still getting the pins & needles when i stand and hold bub for long periods:( so i sit now as much as i can when im holding him.

still no AF .. im wondering if she will ever return.

I had an epidural 9 years ago so i could enjoy the birth of my son with my other children present. Unfortunately they got the wrong spot the first attempt, then had a dura puncture so had to have a blood patch the following week. They couldn't get the right spot and it took five attempts.

I have a pernament backache now...its never gotten better but i must add, this was a needle going into my back seven times...

So hopefully yours is just temporary.
