Wondering re: Twins?

Just wanting some insight as to how you knewyou were having twins or more.

I am 6/40 preg but look about 12-13. not symtomatic realy just a little tired no M/S

IYO should i be wondering about twins or is the no M/S a "no multiples" sign?

I have got six month old twins but I had no idea until I went to my 16 week scan. The guy kept on saying to me they are doing very well. And I was like thinking what is this guy talking about, as I had no idea. He looked at me like I was stupid and said your twins. I said I'm not having twins and he was like well yes you are. Look here to hearts, heads, etc. So this was a shock to me as I had asked at my booking appointment if there was twins as I have a family history of twins (my mum's sister has G\B twins) the doctor at the time said no sorry no twins.

I found out i was having twins at a scan @ 6wks i had no m/s at all.

Ok so did you show any earlier or anything? I am just a little concerned thats all, not that there may be two but just that I have this obvious belly all of a sudden, considering I am smaller in build now than I was whilst pg with DS & I didn't show with him till like 16-18wks,

i found out at my 8wk scan, i had really bad m/s for a few weeks but i didnt show until i was 16wks

Did you "feel" different? like you? does that make sense?

I didn't... but that's because it was my first pregnancy and I had no idea what I was supposed to feel like anyway. I was tired ALL the time... and teaching all day on my feet.. I was absolutely buggered...

but I thought it was normal... it was only when the other ladies in the staffroom started taking bets on whether I was having twins or not that I actually thought about the possibility. DH and I have NO twins in either of our families.. so it didn't even cross our minds that we might be expecting 2.

This pg feels COMPLETELY different though.

Wow!, :yes: Am tirred to & thought working FT & being a wife & mummy was the main cuase.

the only other thing I could think tat it might be is fluid? No? Yes? Ohhh I dunno...

I don't have twins, but I just wanted to say that with my 2nd pregnancy I was BIG and by 12 weeks I was getting scared. I had scans to see if there was more then 1. Nope just one little man....I was huge all through my pregnancy with him and he was only 9lb born. With my 3rd my belly popped at 5-6 weeks, but I got to around 12 weeks and she slowed right down and I looked "normal".

Hi ya!

I found out at 8 weeks by scan. Had quite a bit of m/s (trust that means morning sickness) and my friends couldn't believe how much I was showing at 6 wks (little did we all know then). I also had hcg levels tested by dr as I've had previous hiccups and that was one way of confirming a viable pregnancy. The hcg levels went soaring - he never let on it could be twins though. Maybe he didn't click! A lady at school clicked with that tho and never said anything either.

if you are concerned it could be twins go get a scan .. how far are you ?.. i have twins in my family & i never even thought it would happen to me ...needless to say i was in complete shock.. think i cried for a month lol

I really don't mind if it is twins I just am one of these ppl that HAS to know! hehe.

I am 6wks i don't know my HcG levels though as I didn't have a Blood test.


Any way, thanks for all your advice, DH recons I "overreacting" & just to wait for the 12wk NT scan, I'll have a bit more of a think about it & see.

Alegna Congratulations on your pregnancy. I have severe and chronic m/s with all my pregnancies and my twin one was no different. I did get an inkling earlier though, feeling a lot tireder than previously and I did show a lot earlier. When I was around 6-8wks I had a definite bump up high.

I had it confirmed at 12wks by scan. After the shock wore off we were ecstatic. :fingerscrossed: for you.
