My DH and I had been trying to fall pregnant for well over a year before we finally sought help from a fertility specialist ( who was absolutely amazing).
After two treatments of IUI we finally got our BFP the day before my birthday...which was the best present you could ask for.

The day before I was due back at the specialists for my 6week ultrasound... I started bleeding pretty heavy early in the morning...went to the hospital and sat there for 3 hrs not being seen before I was able to see my specialist when they opened... I found out that I actually had two embryos but one of them didn't attach properly... we were just too happy to know that we still were going to have the baby that we so desired.

After about 16 weeks of being extremely sick...everything just seemed to fall into place, and I had the most amazing pregnancy from then on.

I always thought the baby would come early... so from the beginning of May I was very prepared ( so I thought.)
On Mon 7 May I began getting extremely bad cramps... very very painful...they lasted for a few days... when I finally had to go to hospital..and to my embarrassment found out it was only a bad case of gastro...lol

So when on the following Mon I started feeling something similar I didn't think much of it. At about 6am on Tue 15 May I started getting the cramp pains as well as lower back pain...that lasted 30 sec but were very irregular...they lasted all morning and afternoon.... by 2pm I called the hospital and they told me to stay at home until the contractions were lasting longer...as they were still only 30 sec but coming every 5-8 min.. by 4pm I couldn't take it any longer so made Dh take me to the hospital... By the time I got there and hooked up for the CTG the midwife told me the contractions weren't that strong... all I could think is...I can barely handle them.. I can't imagine what the 'strong' ones would be like. at that point I was only 1cm dialted....

I sat in the spa for an hour...with it doing nothing...so I got out and started on the gas...with every contraction I would lean over my fitball while DH would use a stress ball to massage my lower back..... the gas just didn't seem to be helping so I had pethadine at 7pm...within 20 min I dilated to 3cm.... that just wasn't doing it for me either...so by 8.30pm I asked for an epidural. At 8.45 I got the epi.. and at 9pm my ob came in and broke my waters...by 9.30 pm I had dilated to 7cm...and by 10.30 dilated to 9cm...things were slowing down, so they had to give me the drip to speed things up... and during this whole time the epidural wasn't working properly...as I could still lift myself up with my legs and was still feeling the contractions...just not nearly as bad as before...so they topped it up at 11.00... and by 11.45 I began pushing.

I could still definantly feel the burning ring of fire... I was soo tired...and the midwife was so good at keeping me focused.... By the end of it the midewife, DH, and Ob were all trying to encourage me to keep going as the baby was coming out...but then his shoulders got stuck and I gave up...so at the point two midwives lifted both my legs and DH helped me to push...and with that last big push... the biggest feeling of relief came as my beautiful baby boy was born at 12.25 am 16 May (only 2days early) and Peter got to cut the cord. He came out a bit stunned...but within seconds was letting out the biggest little cries...as soon as they put him on my chest he just went quite.

We had cuddles for about 15 min before they took him to clean him up brought him back to me immediately which is when we had our first breastfeed, and since then, he has been hooked...lol

Jayden Thomas Wong is the most beautiful baby boy... I couldn't have asked for anything more!
