Can anyone give me some advice on nappy rash, DD has started on vegies for dinner two days ago and last night came up in a bad rash on her bum, She is 6 months and has never had it before so im not sure what to do, I washed her gently with water but even that hurt her and have been putting curash cream on and changing her every hour but it does not seem to be helping!
Thankyou for any advice

My DD is 14mths old and has been having terrible pooey nappies lately and has seemed to of gotten really bad nappy rash for the first time. She is teething aswell, well two teeth at a time.
I bought some really good nappy rash cream called Bepanthen from the chemist, it has an antiseptic in it and has worked wonders. Her rash was gone within 3 days. It cost me $9.95 for a tube. I also found that when I bathed her her little bot was stinging as well from the water and sitting in the bath, so I put a face washer underneath her to sit on and put some baby oil in the bath to sooth her. She is pretty good now.

Hi Mandy, what always worked for me, was Aloe Vera.
Go buy one from any nursery, cut off part of a leaf and put it in the fridge for a while. Squeeze out the gel and apply to rash.
This is very soothing, and very healing.
Good luck

I'm having the same issue at the moment. K is getting a mouthful of teeth, so I'm blaming that...
As well as changing him every hour, I have tried papaw cream, sudocream and bepanthen..none of which helped.
I went to the chemist and got some Silic 15 cream. Its an Ego product and found it to be just brilliant. So far, I have put it on twice and the rash has reduced a lot. I'm hoping it will be gone be this afternoon.
Will let you know :)

Ooooo yes MB aloe vera DER ! Had never thought of that myself !
My best advice i can give is to stop bathing her as much as this also helps to irritate with say the water taking away her body's oils as well as the bath lotion your using can sting also.
I found by cutting back on bubs bathing days as well as lathering his bum in either curash cream while its still really raw etc or even try the aloe then making sure i just kept using powder on his bum from then on as he has sensitive skin !
You can either buy curash powder which is great but its basically corn flour so thats cheap & a great way to stop nappy rash before it starts !
Good luck :D
The best stuff is paw paw ointment. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The absolute best nappy rash cream (I should know - I have tried everything) is Sudocream.
You can buy this from major supermarkets or chemists and if applied at night (prior to sleep) the rash will be gone by the morning. Unless it is quite bad then it could take a couple of days. Just keep applying it day and night until the rash disappears.
It's a barrier cream, so it stops moisture from getting to the rash, while ingredients get to work on clearing up the rash - fabbo stuff!

Hi
Thankyou all for your advice, I have gone with the paw-paw ointment so far as I already had some here and it seems to already have soothed it a bit so we will see how it goes over the night.
Thanks again
