From the moment i was pregnant i said that this baby was going to be early, turns out i was right!
I had been in pre-labour for weeks, loosing plug, then a show, increasing braxton hicks etc. On Wednesday my Mum offered to take the kids for the day and wednesday night because i needed a rest before i had the bub, and DD1 was teething and i had been getting NO sleep!
I spent the day shopping, getting my hair done and sleeping, it was bliss and obviously let my body think i was recharged enough to have my bubba.
That afternoon i had a lot of braxton hicks which slowly started to have a pattern to them, but then would drop off again. So I tried to ignore them and I went to bed (at 8pm!)
I woke up at 1am, with what i assumed were more braxtons but i slowly couldn't ignore them anymore and at about 4 started timing. I called my midwife and told her we would be in the hospital at 6.30am.
By the time we got there I was in pain, The middie had 3 ladies in the assesment rooms and so had to keep going from room to room. While we waited for the midwife the contactions got really nasty. She walked back in took a look at me and rushed me upstairs to the birthing room.
I got undressed and needed to start pushing soon after. I was leaning on the bed and gripping df's arm each contraction. The middie asked me if i wanted my waters broken, i said yes, so she broke my waters (thank god, it felt so much better!) and the contraction after that df caught our beautiful baby girl, and passed her through to me for a cuddle (http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m29/mumma_jessy/wynterfirstphoto2.gif).
Wynter Lilly
was born at 8.10
3 weeks early
5lb 8oz
She was tiny! The three of us got to have a cuddle on the bed while the cord stopped pulsating then i cut her cord and gave her a feed.
The middwife dimmed the lights and left us. We spent the next hour marvelling over our new family member. It was a perfect birth, a perfect moment and a perfect baby (http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m29/mumma_jessy/wynterborn2.gif)!
