Hi there,
Just wondered whether anyone elses toddler does poos often.
he seems to do 3 small poos a day and then one the next day and the cycle continues with 3 the next day.
I'm pretty sure it is diet related but have no idea how to change it.
It would just make it easier at change time!:rolleyes:

Eloise goes in stages of once a day then she gets a bit bound up and will miss a day or two, then she'll strain some hard nuggets, then go back to normal once a day jobs.

I'm sure hers is diet related too because she hardly eats anything at all! What's O eating?

Well my Ciaran goes at least every three days .... then we have 3 or 4 in one day ... and they AIN'T pretty.

Try keeping a diary of EVERYTHING he eats in a day (It is rather difficult to remember to do at the start but by day 3 or 4 when you start seeing a pattern it gets quite exciting .... IMO) Once you get a pattern together of foods that UNBIND and foods that bind, start experimenting.

I have done this with both my kids and found (before getting the official testing done) their allergies within the week. It's amazing when you stop to think that it may be as simple as the yellow dye in a lolly that you give him that is causing the un/binding.

Well ffrenchie my friends all tell me that whenever we have a conversation it always turns to sh** but never before did I believe it ..... Oh well *hangs head in powerlessness* I guess I must begin to believe them .......... LOL

Back onto the important issue of our children's poos.
Oliver has become a bit of a fickle eater.:rolleyes: Driving me a bit nuts really.
He hasn't had any nugget issues lately, as all I can really get him to eat is a heap of fruit, yoghurt, cheese and sometimes some dark rye bread.....
He also doesn't mind the odd bikky or ten when we are on the road.:o
At home his diet is usually pretty good though. I think it's all that fruit that is just going straight through him, what do you think?
Maybe the difference between the days is him deciding he doesn't like that food on that day and wants something different......argh toddlers!
I would just love him to do one a day, it would be so much easier!:)

Glad someone responded, I was worried I'd have to talk poo to myself!:o

Eloise won't eat any vegetables. She's quite picky with everything actually. She eats cheese, bread (multigrain usually) yoghurt, strawberries, bananas, apple, omeletes, ham, pikelets (which I mix pureed fruit into sometimes) and that's about it. Oh and chips - her one vegetable intake. :rolleyes:

Her diet can't be that lacking because her poo is the right colour and consistency and everything, I just want her to eat more and a bigger variety. I give her Pentavite to get some vitamins into her!

Is it hard to keep weight on her Rach?
Oliver seems to get skinnier by the day. I wasn't worried about it, but he has lost weight and hasn't gained in some time. He has grown 2cm in the last few months though. It's probably just all the people we know saying, 'oh isn't he so skinny now'.
Darn people.

I was worried at one stage because our scales were telling me that she was only about 8kg which for an almost 2 year old was kind of off the scale in her health book! I took her to the doctor just before Christmas and his scales said 10.5kg (which means ours are waaaay out!) which is middle of the range for her age so I wasn't so worried then.

She's smallish, but I wouldn't say she's ulta skinny or anything. She's still wearing mostly size 1 clothes, pants especially, even though they're a bit short.

I just relax and tell myself that she won't starve herself, when she's hungry she'll eat. She still has 3 milks drinks per day.... I might cut out her lunchtime one and see if it makes a difference.

The food diary is a good idea, but you have to also do a "poo" diary (ie - how often, what consistency) to really work out if it is diet related.

My eldest is a "at least" 3 poo's a day kid (like DH who has fast metabolism), but DS2 is a 1 poo a day kid. They eat the exact same things, so therefore I know it is not diet related, just genetics (DH will kill me if he ever finds out I have been talking about his bowel movements :eek: ).

Poo is a big part of my life these days - as you can tell with the two of them there is at least 4 a day! So I am used to talking about it (not that I want to, but hey it's a part of life).
