Hi, has anyone else noticed their pockets wicking moisture through the leg stitching? I guess it makes sense since the stitching goes right through the PUL layer and is done in cotton thread! It also seems to happen when he does a less-than-solid poo and some of this has come through the stitching around the leg casings, causing staining on the outer surface of the PUL. This seems to happen even when the nappy's not saturated. I have Hautes and bumGenius and they both do this.

I have only had this is if the nappy is totally saturating... perhaps you could try boosting it with a hemp booster?

Hmm, the 'cotton' should actually be polyester thread in those brands so not wick. A hot wash should close any left over holes in the stitching. That's what i do with my home made ones.

I have BG and they only ever wick at the legs when i leave them on DS for too long, like 4 hours.

My only suggestion would be to boost a little more or change a little more often. Sorry i can't offer any more help than that.

Yep thread should be poly so you don't get wicking. Try boosting or changing more frequently. :)

Yep add more absorbent layers, or change more often

Thanks everyone, I will try the hot wash. It's not caused by not changing enough though as it happens even straight away, depending on which direction the wee/poo goes in. And often when it happens the nappy is not saturated by any means...
