Summer has been so emotional today it's not funny! Well it's not JUST today, she was like this on the weekend too but not as bad. You say one thing to her and she will cry. Today I was eating ham sticks and she tried to grab one out of my hand to eat and I said to her 'go get one out of the packet' and up went her lip and she walked off into the corner and cried.

It's like something is upsetting her so badly that anything just sets it off. I don't know WHAT though. She's usually such a happy and loving child who barely ever gets in trouble. We don't scream our heads off at her or swear at her (Okay maybe I yell at her on the odd bad day but that's not often)

I don't know what else it could be. Could it be a phase? Anything you say to her she just pouts her lip and stands in the corner looking into her lap. Is it an attention thing?

She's 2.3 years old. Any help would be appreciated!!

hate to say it may just be her age. DD is the same. she is a drama queen too, flounces off to her room and throws herself on the bed crying at anything.

it's the age my ds is the same and if he someone crying he starts to cry and if someone is sad on tv he will cry and so on and so forth I just keep reasuring him that they are fine and he snaps out of it eventually, if I tell him not to do something I have started to explain why in simple terms but I think that is helping too.

Good luck

DD does the same thing a lot of the time...

I figure it's because she doesn't know how to express a lot of her emotions - as a newborn, she pretty much cried for ANY feeling she had... (pain, tiredness, sadness, loneliness...etc etc).

She can show happiness and sadness mostly... I don't think DD really understands how else to express herself, so she just cries. Perhaps Summer wants to show frustration or anger or annoyance or something (because it would have been far easier for her if you just gave her what she wanted...lol), but doesn't know how to express that... and so crying is what she does.

That's the way I explain DD's crying anyway...
