Hey, just an update on our sitch!! Very excited, on the pre-natal vitamins and counting down to ovulation :smiliedance: Never been so excited to get my period in my life, hehe, mind you the excitement kind of wore off after a couple of hours as the pain really hit, haha. If my calculations are correct we will do our first insem in less than a week! Bought ov tests just to be sure but. We've told a couple of close family members and friends and everyone has been soo excited which has been great. Feeling really positive but trying not to get too excited just yet, (kind of hard...)

Hi Karmalunar
I am currently 5 weeks pregnant. We did a home insemination, i fell pregant 3rd cycle last year but had a misscarriage, this time was first go! I found the ovulation tests were always a bit late for me. Best method for me was to go by the mucus, get the right consistency and bang! We used a syringe, make sure there are no air bubles in there or you blow the sperm up when you inject!

Good luck, and have fun!

Ok, another update, havn't bothered the last few days as i havn't been all that sure what's been going on!! It's been a confusing few days... and i have been SO tired since last night, just quite out of it, so forgive me if my post doesn't make complete sense! :sleeping:
By the calender i was supposed to ovulate yesterday, so i had assumed that my ovulation tests would have showed that but no, nothing at all at this point. Because of this confusion i decided to do the temperature testing, (first thing in the morning), as well. The idea was to give me more of a clue but instead im more muddled than ever! To make matters worse, as far as my mucus signs go, im ovulating! So... i really don't know! :confused:
We went ahead with our first insemination on Sunday night as planned. This almost did not happen, i will not go into too many details here other than that it was a horrible night and my dp and i ended up thinking we were back at square 1, (in regards to having to find a new donor)... turns out it was a matter of wires hugely crossed and us hugely over-reacting! We spent the hour before the insemination being extremely angry and upset and i, thinking the whole thing was off, consumed a glass of red wine, oh well, too late now... :shame:
Insemination seemed to go well, we used a 10ml syringe which amazingly was almost 7ml's full! Lucky we didn't go with the 5ml! :o
As ov tests showed nothing we skipped Monday night but tried again last night. Will try again tonight and also tomorrow night. We are away for the weekend so Friday and Saturday nights are out and by Sunday night ovulation will be well and truely over according to the calender.
Am i paying too much attention to the calender?? Fairly sure i fell pregnant about day 14 of my cycle with El, but that was almost 8 years ago. I only have 1 ov test left, prob check again tomorrow plus keep doing my temperature in the mornings too.
If Sunday night's insemination was successful would that stop the ov tests from working now? I doubt it worked as they didn't show i was ovulating before hand but as i'm SO tired all of a sudden i feel as though i could actually be pregnant already. When pregnant with El i was seriously tired from about two days after conception.
Sorry for the long confusing post everyone... guess im a bit wrapped up in the whole thing! One more question, is it possible to not ovulate monthly?

Whoops, meant to say that temperature showed no signs that i am about to or actually ovulating... So...

Calender = yes
Mucus = yes
Ovulation tests = no
Temperature = no

Hi there, it is confusing isn't it. I found that i could not worry about the ovulation tests too much. Both times i feel pregnant they said i was not ovulating. I found i went best by going by body signs; feeling hot and the mucus. As soon as i stopped testing and taking my temp i feel straight away. For me it worked better when i relaxed and gave up on all the tests, i was also trying the saliva test but never got a positive with that either.

Good luck and i will keep my fingers crossed for you!:thumbsup:

Hmm... Trying not to stress too much, actually trying not to think about it! We went away for the weekend, (it was my b'day!), so that was a great distraction. I must admit though we did find ourselves looking at baby slings and beautiful handmade felt booties and mobiles and omg, i didn't realise how baby oriented our market experience actually was until now! We are shocking! Anyways, it was a distraction from the "am i or are'nt i" question none the least! Decided it's best i get a blog, so i can stop boring you all to death on the forum here! Todays Monday and this Friday is five days before AF is due, apparently we can test then. Really don't have my hopes up too much as i don't really feel any different, think those few tired days may have been entirely unrelated. We only did three inseminations in the end and if i ovulated by the calender then we should have been covered... Fingers crossed, just gunna have to wait and see i guess :fingerscrossed: More mentally prepared for next month though if needs be!
