i started giving ds rusks at 5 1/2 mths
i wouldn't rinse it, might make it to soft if your worried just chuck it and get a new one

DD is continually throwing hers so I just have a clean dry cloth handy and wipe it over when she does.

DS loves his rusks....fluff and all

He has the Bellamy's Organic Rusks. The seem to hold together better than others we have tried. But yep it gets messy either way :D

I gave them to DS around 5 months - but he really didn't get interested in them till about 6 1/2 months. We don't have to worry about fluff - cause the dog sits under the high chair when DS has one and as soon as it drops - it's gone! Dog loves them more than Schmakos (sp?)!!!

my 5 month old has had his first try.. because they are meant to help with teething.. but what if he teethes before 6 months (like the box says the ages are for)

as everyone else has said.. watch him... but most times its jsut they want to feel they are eating when you are too...

My boys never really liked rusks. couldn't blame them really!! I used plain old milk arrowroot bikkies. I never had any probs with choking. They would suck and knaw until it was all gone. they just dissolved in their mouths. and they are cheap. I did watch them closely though.

DD2 has been having teething rusks since baout a week ago and she is nearly 5months old. They do no harm, besides, DD1 comes up and steals them before she has the chance to make a mess.

I see no harm in it just keep an eye on her with em.

My cat does the same thing, as soon as DD drops it the cat is there licking and chewing it all up. Treat for DD and treat for cat in one hit!!!!
