Hi there,
Just after some help from you cloth ladies.
I am thinking about taking the plunge into cloth, I really like the look of the pocket nappies. Fuzzi Bunz I think were my fave and I read some great reviews.
My question is can anyone recommend a WAHM that makes similar?
I would like to support WAHM's and I was also looking at something a little cheaper than the Fuzzi Bunz ones(if that's even possible). I know no matter what this will work out cheaper for me, but I am just looking into the 'trial stage'.
I have looked at a few sites nappycino etc and was just looking for a recommendation from my trusted fellow bub hubbers.;)
Any help would be great.
Sorry if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, because I don't.

P.S This is all your fault Cosmic.....

Ok, assistance no longer required on the first issue.
I have decided to go all out and sew my own.
Anyone done this before, it doesn't look too hard?:o

Talk to Oscar's mum - she made those fantastic ones that Veve bought at the pub last week - I am trying to talk her into making some to sell on e-bay!

Sorry can't help with the sewing tips because I can barely thread a needle myself :o There are heaps of patterns online but a great resource to get help and reviews from other nappy sewers would be to join www.ozclothnappies.org

I bought a few pocket nappies to have a try and then have sewn the rest myself, they are really easy once you get going. I've got about 24 at the moment and have just bought a new batch of fabric to get going on some bigger ones for my boy as I have another baby coming this year.

www.bubbaearth.com.au is a great Aussie site to get fabric from however I have purchased a lot of my PUL from the US as they have a greater variety of colour and I also wanted to use aplix as it's softer than velcro. Postage can be a bit ridiculous though. You can also get some fabric off ebay however a lot of that is precut into pieces and no good for me as my pattern is slightly larger.

Best tip I can give is to make a cardboard or plastic template of your nappy design as it's really easy to trace around your design and then cut rather than use a paper pattern.

I'd be happy to try and help if I can if you have any questions.

Wow HL, you're braver than I am. I sit next to Miss Useless at the sewing machine and she is better than me!!!!!!! LOL. Bubbaearth is the place to get you material. Also try Spotlight for flannette if you want that as your outer layer. Look out for their 20% off sale and get yourself some bargins. Often Flann is on special at this time of the year cause no one wants the material in summer, so have a look.

Good luck and have fun.
