my bubba keeps screaming every time we put her to bed it is getting on my nerves...

I don't want to pick her up every time she screams coz everytime we do that she will stop and then once we put her to bed she will start again so I don't want this to be a habit of us picking her up etc

I just don't know what to do I have resorted to leave her screaming and going in after 5 minutes and talk to her softly and whatever else we can offer and then leave room she will be still screaming until she wears herself out and goes to sleep

I just feel like a bad mum for doing this by letting her scream it out and go to sleep will this pass soon?!

is her bed cold? I used to put a few drops of lavender and eucalyptus(mostly cos of the weather) in my kids beds when they were young and a small heat pack before bed time to warm the bed up.

Also putting some baby balsam on her chest before putting her down may help too.

I also found my kids preferred having their mattress tilted on an angle by a pillow under the mattress

ETA: could she be teething? she's about that age so also a thought.

Could she be over stimulated/over tired by the time she gets to bed?

oh and you are not a bad mummy

crying when put down is most likely tummy related like a burp or wind? put her on her side to sleep...?

if it gets outta hand, bath her to calm her down.

hi I know I am not a bad mummy I know we have all been through it and even said it too I know... Thanks!! :hugs:

It has actually been happening since she was about 1 week old when she is on floor etc she is fine but its almost like she knows bed time is coming soon so once I put her down slowly into bed she will start screaming before she hits the mattress! don't tell me I have a teenager already LOL!

I just gave her a bath before and as for wind I don't think so as she normally lets out a BIG burp herself even before I start to burp her... I think she just likes to be awake rather than sleeping!
