Thanks
hi, i dont really know what sort of accommodation your after or if you want to stay closer to the city/strand or if you dont really care. The only place i have stayed at that i could recommend is a caravan park at wulguru, it has a games room and a pool with a water slide and a little paddling area for littlies. I cant for the life of me remember its name tho. its one of those Big 4 ones anyway.

What sort of budget are you looking at? Do you want caravan or motel type accommodation?

I would recommend:
the waterpark on the strand. there are also a few playgrounds on the strand, but the one near the waterpark is probably the most appropriate. There are also a handful of places to go for a coffee....
Reef HQ aquarium, though your bub may not be quite big enough to appreciate it
The museum of tropical north queensland - in the same complex as the aquarium, but more a grown up thing, though I went there just this week with my 9 month old and he was interested enough, I could just only look quickly at some of the displays
Magnetic Island, though I've not been there with a baby yet. If I do go anytime soon I'll let you know. My in-laws are coming up in a few weeks, I'm looking for things to do with them.
The BIllabong Sanctuary - crocodiles, kangaroos, birds - don't know if your bub will be big enough for that either, i guess you would know.
Cotters Markets in Flinders Mall on a Sunday morning are worth a look.
Riverway is on the other side of town, but I'm guessing coming from Atherton you'll drive here anyway. It's got a big pool, a playground, an art gallery, a coffee shop, and a lovely walk by the river.
Queen's gardens are quite nice to go for a picnic and a play, though the playgournd is a little boring compared to when I was a little girl! There are a few birds and things in cages to look at, but it'r really just a nice park with a nice atmosphere. It's a few blocks away from the strand, definetly walking distance. Most of these places should be in the website I linked up the top.
What other sorts of things are you interested in, I can let you know what' saround in that department.
