Hi!
we were given a bit of money at our engagement party, and am having a hard time thinking of what to say on the thank you cards. What's a good way of saying 'thanks for the $$" without actually saying it like that :o
please help! thanks:)

You could say
"Thank you for your generous gift, it will help us to purchase________ and we really appreciate it."
or something like that???

Money is still a gift, so you can still say thankyou for your gift. ;)
Perhaps you could thank them for their generosity?

We got some money and a few gift vouchers for our wedding. We just thanked them for their very generous gift and then said what we had bought with it.

 that is what we did. The other posters have also mentioned the great idea of telling them what you bought with it to go that one step further. That is of course if you have already spent the money hehe :D
We didn't have an engagement party but for our wedding we thanked people for their monetary gift and told them what we purchased with it (easy to do cause we put it all together and bought a new bedroom suite)

Thanks for all your replies,
I have put "thank you for your generous gift.........." we haven't spent anything as we are moving back to Canada, so most know it will help us to set up our new house anyway.
thanks:)

How about...
"Thank you all for your contributions towards our future together."
Just popped in my head:o
