What is Remote?

Just curious to see if I *fit in* here or not.

I am living an hour+ a way from the City now. Soon I will be living an hour+ away on 264 acres with no power, or mains water, on a dirt road!

Does that count as rural? LOL In Tassie I kinda think no where is REALLY REMOTE, because no matter where you are, you are only ever a couple of hours drive to the nearest city. LOL :rolleyes:

I think it does if you live in Tassie. I used to live in the midlands and that was about an hour from Hobart and sometimes it was isolated. Also not much to do either. Can you tell us where you are moving to?

Yep, Central Highlands! :D

We will be located in the District of Monmouth in the Parishes of Hamilton and Pelham. Our block of land is in both *towns* HAHA!

I'm an hour and half from the closest shops and have no mains power or water (solar power + dam/bore water)
My closest neighbour is only 10kms away but he's a bachelor otherwise I have 2 great friends and neighbours 45mins and an hour away.
I drive an hour to playgroup and the closest school -which has 10 students- is 100kms away.

I class myself as remote- but not necessarily isolated.

Kat- I think you're remote, and you should come chat with us other remoties!

We are going to our land tomorrow to do our final inspection, then it will settle at 3pm on Friday!

We are hoping to buy a generator this weekend and spend our first weekend up there! :)

I think we fit here also, we are in the country pretty rural farming district, we have tank water our nearest neighbors are 1km away :smiliedance: and there is nothing but the beautiful views 360 degree's it's magic

Ha Ha Ha, yes i think ur classed as remote, I live an hour away from town on a dirt road 20,000 acres sheep to talk to, the computer my only source of intelligence and conversation, ooohh and yeah i had my daughter at the roadhouse 1/2 an hour away as we didnt make it to town. Hi, I am Bek and i am classified as remote tooo,I live an hour from town towards the Stirling Ranges need packed lunch to get there 1/2 the time with 2 babies.Thank God for car dvd players i say, Takes me 1/2 an hour to get to Playgroup aswell. My driveway not that bad though 1/2 klm seems like foreer when you walk it though.ha ha ha.Mail man comes 3 times a wekk by car. But all good just no VISITORS. Chat soon. Bek :hissy:
