Does anyone have this book by Gina Ford?

I just purchased the Contented Baby Sleep book to see if it would give me some tips on getting DD into better sleep habits. In this book it says that night waking could be caused by feeding the wrong types of food at the wrong times of the day. But then it says see the contented baby weaning book for further info. So it looks like I need to get that book as well. Not sure if I want to spend another $30 As far as I know, no other books say that you should feed particular types of food at certain times.

Has anyone read this book? Is is a worthwhile purchase?

I haven't read the weaning book but I have read the sleep one cover to cover many times!!! My copy has a weaning section in the back. It is fairly comprehensive about what to introduce when and what time of day to serve the main meal etc. I would try following that to see if it helps. And possibily borrowing the weaning one from the library or a friend.

I just had a thought the book I have it called the New Contented Little Baby Book, but yours may be a different title by same author, if so please disregard my advice :o

My book is the "guide to sleep" book and doesn't have the weaning info.

I'll try to get to the library and see what I can find out.

:)
I have read 3 of Gina Fords books so far, The Little Contented baby Book - The book of weaning - The book of sleeping.
I have used all 3 books with sleeping/feeding/routines with my son who is now 9 months old (started using the routine when he was 6 weeks old).
I would recommend purchasing the books so you have them on hand 24 hrs a day, I constantly refer to the books when i am unsure about things.
My son eats solids well, 3 meals a day, one snack, sleeps well from 7pm to 6/7am, and has 3 breast feeds a day.
We still have our good days and bad days but can always refer back to the books for guidance.
But the books are not a solution to every problem, they are great guides to help you along - every baby is different.
I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has used these books.

I have successfully followed Gina Fords routines and bub is now 7and a half months old. He is still on four BF a day and I haven't introduced meat yet. When and how did you introduce meat and at what meal.

I followed Gina Ford's weaning book,
bub is now 12 months and eats most things but doesnt enjoy the texture of meat,
so i just puree up and put in sandwiches or a bolognaise etc.
The book is easy to follow, it fits in with the contented baby book and the sleep book.
I am looking into getting Gina Fords Contented Toddler book now, also her cook book, our library doesnt have these two books but have seen them on the internet book shops and her website.
I last breast fed just before he was 12 months.
Is your bub sleeping to 7am?
Our bub usually sleeps to 6/6.30am. Only occasionally sleeps to 7am.

he was sleeping from 7 to 7 from around 12 weeks old but when he was about 5 months he started waking earlier, thats when I started solids. Now he usualy wakes between 6 and 7 but a few times in the last few weeks he has woken at 5. Maybe the cold??? Anyway I have just been giving him a quick feed when he does this and he will then go back to sleep till around 7.

I think I will buy the weaning book, I have just followed the bit in the contented little baby book but I think I would like something a bit more detailed.

I was given the Contented Little Baby Book from a friend who swears by it and so do her other friends.

I have started trying to follow the routine, the morning part is working okay but I cannot get my bubs to sleep through or the afternoon routine , in fact he wakes 2-3 times even if I wake him for a feed as it suggests. I found if I had a really bad night with him it through the rest of the day out if you want to follow the schedule. So I have given it up for now but still want to try again. He is 5 1/2 months. It does have about weaning in there. I wish it would work for me :banghead:

See if you can get a copy on Ebay if you can't get it from your library b4 you pay out $30.
