Grrrrrrrr !

Ive had Boof's nite nappies sussed for some time & it even got to the stage a few months ago he was wetting less overnite. Which was obviously awesome !

But no more

He is now a super heavy duty wee'er that is now waking at 2am saturated through everything :banghead:

Im hoping tonite a different combo will work but honestly im so fed up atm im tempted to turn to sposies :gloomy:

We have a Boof here too (funny these nicknames we give our kids) and he did the same thing for a while, but now it has settled back down again. It so sucks having to completely change them in the middle of the night, especially when it coincided with us having the new bubs, so I was up constantly!

What are you putting him in?

bluey - If he doesnt watch out he is up for adoption soon :p

donnamp - Heh yeah well he gets his from his size ! He is a big boy very tall for his age but hey when you are born 10lb & 57cms long its to be expected !

LT - Wellll we used to use either a GK's Anytime with a microfibre & large hemp insert or a GK's Dreamytime with the same inserts. No dramas. Then we changed to the new hourglass hemp inserts without issue because as i said he started wee'ing less but was still quite heavy. Then i started using two of the extra boosters in with the hemp & microfibre to last the nite.

I have currently been trying a BBB with a cover & that only works if i have it boosted to the max but much better than the Dreamytime.

We have also just recently trialled the new insert for GK's & that seems to hold up well.

Im just so cranky that the Dreamytimes arent working anymore :( The ones he is using arent that old because i got them specially made a few months back. They are larger for his size as well as being able to be boosted easily !

Oh well i may try using the DT as a cover over the BBB & see how that works !

ally at night I use a thick bamboo prefold and 2 microfibre boosters. Works really well.
Eiother with a l pocket or a windpro fleece pocket.

Also I found that folding a microfibre in half and putting it at the front of the nappy works well too cause thats where the boys wee.

I just got a GNST from Bubblebubs. I don't see how any child could get that nappy to leak. It even has snaps on the outside for an extra, extra booster. Might be worth a try.

I've heard gnst's are super for heavy wetters :)

hoping its just a stage, I had my ds in sposies, and went through a stage where I was wrapping a terry around the sposie at night, as he was weeing through that, so dont think that would be the answer lol

good luck

Oh this is happening to me too!!!

They were fine! And now they are ALWAYS wet!!!

I was even finding I had so much boosting in their night nappies, the covers seemed to small and I had to carry them as watching them 'try' to 'waddle' was just to hilarious

I have super-wetting-2yr-old-tummy-sleepers.

Are the GNST's fitteds??? Do they need a cover?? Coz one of the biggest problems I'm finding is getting a cover that fits properly over a super boosted nappy!

Hope you can figure it out Aly... and let me know when you do!

I've got a bears bottom fleece night cover from Nurture Nappies and it is brilliant! It is pull on, has llittle legs and a high waist. Even if the nappy under is not boosted enough it still does not leak out. I got a large and it is almost too big for my 2 year old., so it will fit for ages. It is designed for a super boosted night nappy. It is $24 I think, which is not bad and it keeps him cosy and warm too! I use it over a BBB, a GK boosted or a BP boosted. They all work for us.

I love it and it is a gorgous charcole grey. Great colours to choose from! Have a look and see what you think. A bit cheaper than a GNST!

Come and visit my place one night and Jet will show you! LOL. Even with the bamboo ones I now have to boost them so much that he now needs size 2 PJs to fit over the top (he's a 1 usually), and even so he's leaked most mornings  I'm starting to dread how much worse it will be when he gets bigger/ older...

Ally: good luck! A huge microfibre booster laid between the boosted nappy and the cover is helping us a little at the moment. But I am so hearing you about contemplating going over to the dark side ('sposies at night), at least for winter. We actually used a sposie one night recently when we went to visit relatives - and I still put a microfibre booster and PUL cover on the outside (just in case) - Jet was dry in the morning and slept through all night...ooh, tempting...

OJandMe: you do need covers for the GNSTs . I've just bought some Baby Beehinds PUL in large and they fit (for now!) but then again Jet is only 8 months old...not sure how you'd go with a 2 yo...you might need to sniff around and find XL covers? or get some made... :detective:

Glad im not the only one !

I swear he does this just so i buy him more nappies to play with

Gretel - Boof has XL Bummi's covers & they are huuuuuuge plenty of room to go over super boosted nappies lol. Im so glad i got them that big now !!!!!

I have also noticed Boof sleeping more on his tummy now too so i think this may have a part to play in it ! Bloomin children ... Who would have em hey !

Snugglepot - Will check them out thanks

Kimba - I havent had a sposie in the house for so long & every morning im tempted to walk down to the shops & grab some lol.

We didnt have too bad a morning at least i wasnt woken at 2am with him crying due to being wet up to the armpits !!!!!! Today he was only wet by 6am when he normally tends to wake & it had only just started. He has me stumped !

Ok im now off to browse through nappies .... What DP doesnt know wont hurt him !

Allyoo,

How old/big is boof?
What size nappies does he use?

reAllytee
25-06-2007, 09:18
LT - He is 28mths not quite 2 & 1/2, he is the size of a 3 or 4 yr old though. He isnt chubby only weighing 15kgs just very tall for his age.

He uses the large size GK's through the day these have been made specially for him as the rise on the normal GK's was becoming too low.

He can still squeeze into a BBB purely because he isnt chubby but again the rise is starting to get too low so im sure in a few months he wont be using those !

Otherwise i have him in flats & a cover because i figure he will start TT end of this year so buying more nappies just isnt worth it !

Ok as much as DP loves me he will kill me for spending $52 on one nappy ! Darnit the GNST looked pretty good too !

This is fatal though ive just found some more things i want for Bump !!!!!!

Mmmmmm what to do !

OJandMe

LMAO Ally,... I know... the boys or baby blue #3??? Decisions decisions!!

How are you folding your flats during the day? Coz I'm finding most folds are getting a bit small for them! I've been just doing a pad fold with a twist (to keep it slim between the legs) under a Bummis cover.

The BBB's are getting very low rise on them too.. and it is getting so hard to boost them and still be able to do them up! Poor little guys, can barely walk!!

I am finding the rise way too low on the BBB for DS too. I am not really using them now if I have a BP or GK on hand for nighht. I think the low rise and the tummy sleeping is not a good combo!

Good luck and by the way, I too use sposies at night sometime especially if DS drinks a lot of milk before bed!

Okay... back out slowly if you REFUSE to use sposies even at night.....

BUT

if you are like us and having SERIOUS overnight wetting issues whether just with sposies, or just with cloth... then this is the ultimate solution!

I have discovered with the boys.... (both huge boofers and super duper heavy duty night time tummy sleepings wee-ers)

that the ONLY way I can keep them dry is to put a sposie on first, then a BBB with the small snap-in, then a really good cover.

Oh, but I also put a fleece liner in the sposie... lol.. just coz I don't like the feel of that stuff anymore.

we've had dry nights all week!! YAY!! And we're using the super cheap home brand sposies... coz we're only using them at night anyway. And I like that the boys can actually walk without too much hassle! We had to carry them when they had super boosted cloth on, coz they couldn't walk!

Totally forgot about this thread !

LMAO !!!! ET's mum yep he does the little shocker but always has i do try to stop him honest !!!!!

Gretel - I will keep that in mind ! Can you believe ive had him back in the standard nite nappy 3 times this week with no dramas :banghead: Honestly why cant he just wee the same amount lol.

Lets hope it was just some freak of nature thing & that everything will settle now !

I was thinking about this thread when I couldnt sleep last night! I know I said this before, but I have been using the bears bottom fleece cover for about 2 weeks + now and I have not had one leak with it. I use a boosted BP or GK underneath and even is the BP is soaked, DS's pjs are still dry. Well worth the money IMO!

Thanks Snuggle !

Im actually going to invest in one whether Boof needs it or not i figure later on Bump will use it

Another dry nite in a standard Dreamytime with two hemp inserts & a microfibre ! So maybe it was just a bad week lol !

Also recieved Bekky's nappy !!! Thanks hun its gorgeous !!!! Cant wait to try it out on the weekend after the next round of washing :smiliedance:
