I was just reading on the babylove website that the primo can be used with or without the base. Does this mean that if you have to take a cab you can strap the capsule in with just the seatbelt? I am trying to add up the pros and cons of getting both a capsule and later a baby seat or to get a convertable car seat. We do have to go interstate now and again, and have to take cabs from airports etc, if a capsule can be taken into a cab, it would make sense to get this, but if not, we may just get a convertible seat for our car. What do you guys think?

We have the primo and yes you can use it without the base (we actually never bought the base as we couldnt find one and by the time we did O was out of the capsule)

When you use the capsule without the base you just need an attachment in the car (like a normal car seat etc) if your getting a taxi I think most have them but you will need to check. Also if you have a station wagon you will need to buy an extra long attachment as the primo only comes with the basic strap.

Have you seen the primo base anywhere? as Im thinking of getting one for our next bub. Ta

We hired a capsule from one of those baby hire places. We loved it. It cost $60 for 3 months and we got $20 back as our deposit. We had the old fashion capsule which had a base etc and was basically stuck in the car. But we had a convertible car seat and we had it our second car and we could take it out of one car and put it someone else car which i loved.
