Hi all,my DS who is 3 years refuses to leave his pram and does his poos there. Also he refuses to be cleaned, prefering the security of the pram. When carried out, he just screams. How am I going to toilet train him? :( Help!!

I would stop using the pram. If he isn't in the pram then he wont have the opportunity to poo in there, and will hopefully get used to going on the toilet/potty :) Maybe not a very practical idea if you have to walk alot, but might be worth a try.

Maybe it is the vibrations helps him to poo or he even find it relaxing to sit in the pram to do his poos?

My son he goes away to play in his room and we are not to disturb him.
Most of the time he comes and let us know and wants a nappy change.
He did go through a face not wanted a nappy change at all, but it didn't last long we told him to poo is very good and everybody poos, and told him food goes in the mouth then in to the tummy and them it becomes poo.
I have been told that around this age they want to keep the poo not understanding why they poo and so on. could possible be some sort of a fear, all this brown stuff coming out of the body and will be thrown away...

Try not to worry about nappy training too much, well that is what I'm telling my self at the moment. LOL!!!! They will learn when they are ready.
At the moment his "friend dolly"(his doll) uses the real toilet and Erik uses the potty as a hat.
I think as long they se us parents using the loo and really see what we are doing in there they will be toilet train one day....

Cheers Malin

My 3 y.o isn't trained yet - all the expert advice (child health nurse, GP etc) is that he just isn't ready, and won't be trained until he wants to be. SO I'm trying not to get too hung up on it. But with kindy starting in 4 months it's hard to stay calm changing the umpteenth nappy of the day. If anyone has any novel ideas I'll try them (we;ve done the star charts, played "sneaky poos", had reward toys, trips to the zoo, etc etc. He is just plain stubborn I guess!!
