Are we out of our minds???

DH and I are on holidays as of next week (yes we are teachers!) and we are thinking of doing a bit of a road trip down the south coast of NSW down to about Eden/ Bega - with a couple of stops along the way. Nothing huge, just some places we would really like to see and a chance to get away and relax.

We have a 19month old little boy....

Are we mad to even consider this type of holiday?

Has anyone ever done anything similar?

Would love to hear feedback!

Do it!! If your little man is happy in the car and you have plenty of stops on the way or drive during sleep time go for it! We used to do this heaps when i only had 2 but 3 got a little to much for me to handle on a long trip!

I would def go for it! A big adventure, always good.

When your DS is bigger it'll prob be harder.

We went to Kiama not too long ago, really nice drive that is!
But anywhere down that way and further south is just gorgeous!

Take lots of snacks and drinks for E, oh and maybe some crayons etc for the drive if he likes to draw (or scribble:p )
Lots to keep him occupied!

Oh and one mroe thing.... ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!

AS Lunar said though make sure you have heaps of snacks & different toys/activities to occupy E.

I did a road trip with Boof when he was 18mths up to Lismore we just found it took longer as we needed to stop every so often to let him run his energy off !

Oh & make sure you have visors etc you can adjust incase the sun is in the wrong position ! We found we had to move them from the rear window to the back windows depending on the time etc !

Have loads of fun im soooo jealous !

Go for it! But make sure you go and stay at Tathra! The drive down from Bermagui is awesome. Break it into short stints.

We used to do a lot of driving with the kiddies when little. We did the 12-15 Melb to Sydney thing with 3 of them numerous times. Always stopped every 2 hours to change drivers, feed them, have a run around etc.

If you don't put pressure on yourselves to be somewhere by a certain time you should really enjoy it. Stop at lots of playgrounds etc on the way, tapes, books etc etc.
