this old love by lior was my aisle song, so glad arena has stopped using it for the ads!
the other song that really reminds me of my wedding is Proud mary... thats the song that kicked off the dancing oh my did we dance... it got manic!
I walked down the Isle to a song called "I Love you" by Martina McBride, that came out just as we started dating and at the time the words were so appropriate to how we were feeling (it goes, "I've know you just a week or 2, baby I'm so into you, I can hardly breath") coz we moved pretty fast initially (I said "I love you" after about 4 wks Valentine and we joined out bank accounts after about 4 months of going out...then bought our first house after 1 yr, then it took him 3 more yrs to propose!) :ecomcity: ...anyway
But it was a toss up between that and "You are so Beautiful" Joe Cocker (because he always sings it to me)
Our first dance was to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica, the Symphony version. We had lessons and everything for it so we didn't look like idiots just swaying there, we did a full on waltz routine, was really cool.
Walked up the aisle to "That's the Way I Feel About You" by Edyta Gorniak. Lyrics are here (http://www.lyricsdomain.com/5/edyta_gorniak/thats_the_way_i_feel_about_you.html). It still gives me goosebumps just reading it.
Our first dance was to "Ice Cream" by Sarah McLachlan.

We had Unchained Melody as our aisle song - (I don't normally listen to Old Folks Music :p  but that one is apt due to our relationship starting while we lived 2000kms apart. Go on, mock me, see if I care! :p )
Then we had Alanis Morrisette's Head Over Feet.
I love listening to my wedding songs album. It makes me all sentimental and mushy. Valentine
I walked down the aisle to "All you need is love". Valentine
Our first dance was to "Kiss Me" by Sixpence none the richer. :D
We had no music in the church as it was an orthodox church and service.
We cut the cake to Aerosmith "Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and we danced to KC & JoJo "All Of My Life"
I heard the Aerosmith song on Oprah the other day and it made me cry.

I walked down the aisle to Purcell's Trumpet Tune.
Our first dance was to "Let's get lost" by Chet Baker (we had a jazz band)
Let’s get lost, lost in each other’s arms
Let’s get lost, let them send out alarms
And though they’ll think us rather rude
Let’s tell the world we’re in that crazy mood.
Let’s defrost in a romantic mist
Let’s get crossed off everybody’s list
To celebrate this night we found each other, mmm, let’s get lost

We had 'home' by Michael Buble during our ceremony- it was really appropriate for us since DH is Australian and I'm American. We were bouncing back and forth between countries for many years. We didn't really have a reception because DH got a touch of heat stroke and spent the rest of the day with his head in the toilet  so the first dance as man and wife.. went down with it..lol Awww the memories:laughing:

A friend strummed Pachabel's Cannon as we walked down the isle, from memory. I could have that wrong. We just asked him to do something nice :D But I used to play that on the violin so think I recognised it there.

I'm not married, but I'm so eager to be married, I've already planned a lot of my wedding in my mind.
While music isn't 100% selected just yet, I do have a few ideas.
If I walk down the aisle to anything other than classical music, I'm going to think, "God, how embarrassing!" when I think about it years later... so there's no way I'm having anything with lyrics.
Though, I did have a dream in which I got married, and walked down the aisle to Michael Buble's version of "Feeling Good." The bit where all the big band music started is when we started walking. Very much like a wedding catwalk parade... lol. BUT I have come away from that dream thinking that's a pretty cool (if a bit too show-off) way of doing things... so who knows.
I'm going to have a somewhat old-fashioned wedding... old-world dresses, old-world decorations and therefore old-world music.
I'm thinknig Etta James "At Last" is a nice choice for a dance, because I love it. Otherwise I really like "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding, and even "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. I also like "Dream a Little Dream" by Mama Cass, but I think a friend wants this for hers.
