I am going to a baby shower on the weekend for a good friend. It is her second baby (she is expecting a boy), so she already has the basics and I would like to get her something a bit special. Any ideas?

How about something for her rather then the baby. Maybe a gift voucher for a facial or a massage, a dinner voucher for her and her dh would be nice too (depending on ur price range too).

Maybe do up ur own pamper pack, u can get cheap baskets at the discount store and fill it with bath salts/oils and foot scrubs, a face mask. You can get them pretty cheap in singles from the chemist usually.

good luck and let us know how you go :fingerscrossed:

I was going to suggest the same thing... Or perhaps a kit to do a belly cast or even a voucher for a pregnancy portrait session... HTH...

How old is her other child? Maybe you could get something for the other child so he/she can give it to the baby when it arrives and feels important etc

i think a keepsake album would be great:thumbsup: .You can record all the memories of the birth, being in hospital (etc who visited) and weight, lenglth etc.

There's a great website with some fantastic innovative things that are just so great for someone who has a lot already! It's bambino. With perhaps a dot and a com there somewhere. Can't remember it there's an au too. But add Pronto after the Bambino. Without the capital P and B. Get it? lol. Trying real hard to comply with forum rules here, lol :D

My sister went to a baby shower on the weekend and gave her friend a nappy cake - it contained a couple towels rolled up for the botton layer with some disposable nappies tied round the outside then the top layer (smaller to look like a wedding cake type thing) had face washers and bibs -again with nappies tied round them with a pretty ribbon and a stretch suit placed on the top (so there wasnt a big hole init)
One of my friends is due with her first bub and i was think bout doin what my sister did!!
Its a great idea i reckon!!

Thanks guys - what great suggestions!

In the end I got her some very boyish bits and pieces for the nursery, as her first is a little girl, so they had a lot of neutrals and pinks, but very little blue.

It was a great baby shower - although she is so pregnant, that I think she would have happily gone without!
