Hi!

We just moved here from Norway where we have attended a baby swimming course with our now 6 months old son, for the last 4 months. I wonder if they have courses like that here too?

The classes here run from age 6 months generally.

Most large indoor swimming centres offer them, which one you would be best checking out would depend on exactly where you are living.

Thanks! We'll check it out!

Anyone who knows if there is a good place for baby swimming nearby west/north Melbourne/city centre?

;)

Definitely the melbourne sports and aquatic centre (though they will be closing briefly for the games). The facilities are fantastic and they start teaching 6 month olds. We used them for a couple of terms.

Vitro,
What suburb are you in? My DH is looking into a course for him to do with our 2 year old daughter. It has been recommended by a co-worker of his, he just has to remember to ask her for the details. Men!

We're in West Melbourne. Since we don't have a car it would be nice to find a course around here. Today we are going to the city baths to check the place out. Hope it is OK to bring a 6 months old there..

Hej Vitro!
I am also new to Melbourne as we've just moved from Sweden! So we're neighbours now and used to be neighbours too! Don't get too excited though as I am an Aussie, but I am thinking very fondly of the northern life right now as we're ploughing through 40 degree heat instead of thick piles of snow!:D
