OK people. This might be a long story, will try to keep it short.

Before I fell preg with Andrew, I had looooooong cycles. I'm talking months at a time. The last cycle before I fell pregnant was probably upwards of 6 months - I didn't keep track precisely.

Anyway DH and I decided that after our honeymoon, if AF hadn't returned, that I would make a trip to the docs and find out what funky things were/were not going on with my body. Anyway :o we found out we had fallen pregnant a few weeks after our honeymoon. So, a very very lovely surprise for us, and I DO mean surprise!

So now Andrew is 11 months old and having 3 breastfeeds a day (none at night, not for months now) and my AF has still not returned.

My question is - is it worth going to a doc now that I want to TTC again? Are they going to tell me to give up breastfeeding before they will try anything or refer me to anyone? How long should I wait before being worried about AF not returning?

Sorry for all the q's - just not sure whether or not to hit panic stations yet. 11 months seems like a long time to go without!

My DD#1 was about 15 month old before my AF returned.

I was hoping for a similar lack of AF after DD#2, but it was back after 6 months. I was feeling ripped off!

I wouldn't be too worried about no AF on its own, but if it is affecting you TTC, maybe you should see a doctor for the once over.

my son is 6 months old and I have had 3 real AF's since he was born with intermittant sporadic spotting. My dr said if it hasn't sorted itself out by the time Thomas is 9 months old he'll do some tests and scans, figure out how to get my body in babymaking mode (even if it means clomid) and help it along ;)

Hi there, my AF didn't arrive until I had completely finished bf and then it came back pretty quickly and very regular. But, I guess see a doc if you are unsure :)
