For the last month (ish) I have been able to see four teeth-like shapes sitting inside Andrew's top gums. Have been watching them move eeeever so slowly southwards.

Anyway - I noticed today that two of them are starting to show a little - but they are showing at the front of the gum, and not at the bottom? I sorta kinda thought they would come out the bottom of the gum, the same way that the bottom teeth came up through the gum?

Is that normal? Just looks weird to me. Wish they would hurry up already!

Yes it is normal - those top teeth are very different from the bottom - which also means that they aren't as sharp (good news for the breastfeeding mumma!). It is weird how they appear at the front rather than the bottom edge but in a few weeks they will look very normal - promise!;)

That freaked me out too! I thought there was something really weird wrong with his teeth, but now they are as straight as can be!;)

Thanks guys :) I feel much better.

Now if you could only tell me that it would just take one day for them to pop out :D

Seriously though. His bottom 2 teeth came through in two days, how long does it take for the top ones to pop out?

I have just had the same freak out!!:p
One of DS's top teeth has come through and the other is waiting to make it's appearance. I was so worried because these are the first teeth to show up and i thought they would come through 'normally' too.

It has taken about 2 weeks for the first of the top teeth to come through for DS. I have absolutely no idea if that's fast or slow but it sure feels slow.

Hahahh !
Here i was thinking i was the one with the strange child
But alas i am not !
Harry's were showing through just before Christmas day & one broke through that day & the next was through by the 27th then it has taken all that time til now for the first to be half way down & sitting through properly looking like a tooth ! The second is getting there finally but at first they even sat at angles was all so weird !
Now im hoping the gap settles down as neither of us have gaps & im wondering where he got that from

Nearly took my ds to the doctor/dentist when this happened to me. It was his second lot of top teeth not his first. So I thought it was extremely weird. All my sons teeth have taken different lengths of time to come through and all with a huge amount of fuss. Has anyone found using teething gel makes their babies sick. Every time I use it he pukes slightly.

Me- 33
DH- 33
DD -10
ds1 -2
ds2- 9 months

Ummm no my bubs actually loved the stuff LOL he would see the tube coming & open his mouth LOL !
I dont use it anymore though as it just wasnt doing what it was meant to do so i now stick with panadol & brauers. Just found cause of him being older he would be too busy trying to get his tongue to lick it off my finger first as well as trying to lick it off his gums IYKWIM which defeats the purpose ! Means he had a numb tongue & was still cranky from having sore gums LOL !
Id stop using it as he may be having a slight reaction to something in it or maybe he just doesnt like the taste !
Try the brauers teething relief most of us mums on here swear by it ! :)
