what age did your child write their name

Just a general query. In the past 10 days Mia has learnt to write her name. She has always read and played with alphabet puzzles but after 3 or 4 goes of showing her she gave me a piece of paper yesterday with her name on it!!

Samuel is a March 04 baby and there si no way he could write his own name, but he does recognise it,

Mind you Mia is a little easier to write than Samuel :laughing:

Ruby first did it sometime back in February I think and she turned 3 in January.

I think it has a lot to do with the length of a name. DD does try writing her name and gets a few letters right like the A she recognises her name mum dad and her brothers names. I think Mia and Ruby are both a bit easier as they don't have so many letters

DD9 did it when she was 3, ds is still learning but the accident set him back 12 months so thats understandable, dd is 2 and a half now and she will try write it she gets the stor but no m yet lol

lucy wrote hers when she was about 3.... but only now at 4 almost 5 she writes it correctly ALL the time.. ( letters used to get muddled up alot)

DD1 was 4 when she started kindy and she could write her name.
DD2 is 4 now but she can't write it yet so I am making more of an effort to help her, I haven't spent as much time with her as DD1.
They both have long names.

I hope this didnt start a " my child isbetter than your child"> It was just something i was curious about and if there was anything that hindered or helped them.

I guess i chose a name that was easy as well. I spent my life spelling my name and didn't want DD's doing the same.

My son is 3 his name is blake he can do the BLE but not the A and K were working on it though:)

my daughter has an easy name Hallie she can write her name has done that about 3 years old.. although the a is cute it is backwards! I love it! :kiss:

I think it should be able to be written by about 5....

I think Jayce started copying his name when he was about 3, in kindy.

Has only been using the correct letter formation and correct size and font this year. He is in prep.

I did a lot of prewriting activities and fine motor activities to build muscle tone and strength before hand.
