Has anyone else found that the Petit Miam baby yoghurt (or yoghurt in general) gives their baby awful wind?

We introduced some a week ago and DD loves it, but ever since she seems to have a grumbly tum and farts all night (to the point of waking herself up). I can't put it down to anything else. It's one of the few foods that she actually likes to eat so I was a bit disappointed that it seems to be causing her problems.

The baby yoghurt seems to have a lot of yucky things in it (ie thickners and vegetable gums) so I'm going to try some plain yoghurt and add some fruit to it myself to see if it makes any difference.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi - we had similiar probs with that particular brand of yoghurt - have you tried the Valia brand of bubby yogurt? - that might be a bit different.

My DS didn't really tolerate either particularly well and so we've moved to goats milk yoghut- and he loooooves it..... and no side effects of any description! Will try him again on other yoghurt again in about 6 months :)

Experiment with some different ones over a patch of time and see if the same effects occur :)

Good luck

Hi, I didn't find it with yogurt, but I did find it with the baby custard range. Just stopped giving it to DD and she was fine. I had a couple of restless nights using the custards, and she would seem to cramp up a lot. I just started using the fruit custard, more like a gel though, and that seems to be ok. Although, this is about 3 months later.

I would also recommend vaalia yogurt. Seems to be easier on their little tummies.

The Jalna fruit yoghurts are smooth, without fruit bits, and have no added sugar, or other additives.

You could try those for baby instead of the baby yoghurts.

Yup, the petit miam made bubs sick but the vaalia baby yoghurt worked a treat!

We now give her lactose free plain yoghurt and mix fruit in and that is just as good!
