I'm hanging up the pumps.

Cobey's 11 months now and, contrary to popular advice I've successfully weaned him onto cow's milk during the day (a few reasons.. I was starting to pump less, have less time for pumping, he was drinking less breastmilk at daycare which meant he'd want an INSTANT feed so I wouldn't have milk to pump... and yeah. I also only started getting cracked nipples since I started pumping. most recent one was yesterday and - by god they hurt!

so over the last 6 weeks I've gradually added more and more moo milk to his cup... now he's on all but 20mL moo milk.. and I think the 20mL is just for my sake.

At home we will continue to feed on demand. So far he's been doing well, my supply hasn't dipped and I only pump once or twice a week.

I have enough milk in the freezer for the week. Next week I start a 2 week break.. and after that he'll be 12 months anyway. :)

I feel a bit sad.. but a bit proud that we stuck it out for so long.. I'll admit I feel a bit anxious posting this - my boy being on cow's milk before 12 months. And indeed before self-ween. We do plan on continuing to demand feed until self-wean.. just couldn't keep up for when I wasn't there.

Besides - daycare provides free moo milk

Well done Seek.

You've done incredibly well in the face of great odds (and a fussy little boy!).

Enjoy your pump free nights!

I think you have done a fantastic job seek. I remember all too well the pain of expressing and can't believe you managed to get this far.

Give yourself a pat on the back!:yelclap:

Well done! Pumping is a pain in the @ss - you did well to stick at it for so long.

I only have to pump 2 bottles for DS a week to take to daycare (he only goes one day) and I find it hard enough to get time for that some days!

You probably know my opinion on cows milk so we will just ignore that bit, LOL

You've done so well!! :yelclap:

I know how hard it is. You've been a bit of a pumping inspiration to me since I've been on bubhub as I knew I was going back to work early and would be performing twice daily milk maid duties :D

:yelclap: great job pumping for your bubba:yelclap:

you will prolly have all those normal mummy feelings we all have when a significant baby stage passes.sometime it's a bit of a mixed bag of emotions i think.remember to celebrate your achievement and enjoy moving into a new non pumping phase:)

:o Franks. I'm glad I inspired someone!!

I've come to terms with it (I think) hehe... Cobey's been coming home and straight onto the boobie anyway so there would've been nothing to pump this week.

Thanks for your encouragement girls. I really appreciate it.
