preg and pill

I was just wondering if anyone thinks the following is possible or if they have heard of anyone. I am on the pill and have had my a/f though they have only lasted a few days but i feel really tired and nauseated lately and just wondering if i could be preg again.

Two of my friends both fell last year while on the pill. Remember its not fool proof! And if you have taken any medication lately like antibiotics or vomitted then it can not always be effective...

But it can also be the reaction your having to the pill itself.

i was on the pill and used a comdon and still fell preg with tyler so anything is possible

In our family we have 5 kids conceived while on the pill and one concieve while mu had the injection only 3 months previously! That is 6 out of the 10 grandchildren!

Needless to say, we are very fertile and tend to watch our bodily functions pretty closely! The dh's (3 brothers!) think that it is all due to them and like to brag!

maybe i should take myself off to the drs though there is always a month long waiting period to see my dr. Maybe i should by a test just to be sure. does the pill cause birth defects though if you fall pregnant on it? I hope not.

I was conceived on the pill!!!!! my mum didnt know till she was 3months PG with me either! so yeah it can happen! just get a HPT and then youl know or not!!!

I keep worrying about this too, I'm not normally a paranoid person, but I haven't been feeling well for a while now, weird tummy feelings etc. I'm on Yasmin and I have AF without fail when I take the sugar pills, and I did two HPTs a few days after AF, both negative. I still feel weird. :(

I was on the pill Femodene for 10 yrs and my periods slowed so much they basically stopped altogether!!!!! Doc said it was really common

I was wondering if anyone did actually fall preg on the pill (with no other issues e.g. taking antibiotic or vomitting and forgetting a pill one day) Don't know anyone who has - what pill were those of u that fell pregnant on????? Was just curious cause I was on the pill 4 so many years without becoming pregnant - came off and got preg straight away???!!

I am a "pill baby" so therefore always had my reservations about taking it... I tried every pill on the market due to never being regular. I then went on one of the highest dosages (Microgynon 50) which seemed to work until...

I had a miscarriage at 11 wks without even realising that I was pregnant!!! I still had normal periods that were on time and no other symptoms really until I started bleeding REALLY heavily with bad cramping. Once I went to the dr, he did a test and told me that I was pregnant but after an ultrasound realised I had miscarried.

I ALWAYS took the pill cautiously and never skipped days, vomitted or took antibiotics leading up to falling in... So, "it doesn't work for everyone" as my mum would say and I soon found out!

I would go to the dr if you're still not feeling right as some tests don't show right away.

I fell pregnant with DD whilst on the pill and didn't take excessive Vit C, no vomitting, diarohhea (?Spelling), no antibiotics, no pill missed, taken at the same time every day. So it does happen. Suffice to say after being on the pill for approx 12 years, it came as quite a shock!!

thanks everyone. it is getting rediculous how tired i am. I am up for 2hrs and then i am totally wacked and exhausted for the rest of the day. get a second win in the evenings. I can't go to bed early as i can't sleep then.:(

I fell pg twice while taking Triquilar ED - not a super strong one but it was effective for 6 years before I fell the first time. It may have been affected by antibiotics but I was assured it would not be a problem with the anti-b's I was given. 2nd time no missed pill, no anti-b's, no vomiting etc - everything was as it should be!! I then fell pg on Triphasil - once again not the strongest form but stronger than the one I was on previously and no missed pill, no anti-b's no vomiting etc. I am now on Levlen ED and all is well so far - I am excited I can get an IUD within the next 3 months or so - had to wait due to previous internal probs. Hopefully this will be more reliable than the pill has been for me as I am not keen for any of the injections or having my tubes tied!!

My cousin fell pregnant whilst on the pill she didnt find out she was pregnant till 5 months and was still taking the pill before she found out,it was a huge shock to her because the bub defiately wasnt planned.

Does the pill cause deformities if you fall preg and not know it?
You said your sister fell preg and didn't find out till she was 5 mnths was that because she still got her period?

she still had her period and continued the pill until she found out bub is about 2-3 now and is perfectly healthy no deformations.I think doctors say not to take the pill when pregnant i think it can cause birth defects.

out of interest is it possible to get pregnent and then when you do a test if your a particular lenght into it that your hcg levels drop giving a neg on a hpt rather than pos????/

Just read this thread & sounds v familiar! I lost a baby in Nov last year & started taking the pill again 3 months ago. I managed to mess things up last month & was taking pills on the wrong day (don't ask, confusing pill packet), I also had one night of vomiting 3 weeks ago & stupidly didn't think to be more careful. I had a period last week as I should have but it was different to normal, alot lighter & no cramping. This week I have been feeling really fatigued, sometimes sick & completely off my food, some mild cramps. Did a test this morning but it was negative, not sure if I am pregnant or not! I can only be a few weeks along so maybe too soon to test, its almost impossible to know, maybe its just wishful thinking.

i just went through feeling that way, same situation on pill but still little bits of af. i really thought i was pregnant but DF thought i was run down so i started toaking multivitamins and felt a lot better and it turns out he was right i wasnt pregnant just exhausted.

well now im getting the odd boubt of feeling like im going to throw up and occasionaly it happening. did another test yesterday though a bfn. i am going to go off the pill just incase though i think and use condoms instead

That sounds a bit more promising, maybe you should get a test done at the docs just to be sure. I have been feeling fine again last couple of days so don't think I'm pregnant this time. I have also decided to stop taking the pill at end of this packet & seriously start trying, I'll keep you posted!

Hopefully you'll find out what goin on "in there" soon.

does it matter if you stop the pill in the mid of cycle or should i wait till the end as today was the first day i stopped the pill?

Don't think it "matters" just easier to keep track of your cycle if you finish the pack.

I fell pregnant with my DS when I was on the pill. I had my period 3 times before I skipped one, and also realised that my pants didn't fit as well. I took a test and then found out I was 14weeks along. I was a bit worried at first because at that time I was still smoking, drinking, and taking the pill. However, Brion wasn't prem or underweight, he's nearly 9mnths now and twice the size of kids his age (78.5cm and 11.5kgs)and as strong as an ox. All's well with his health, so if you do turn out to be pregnant, I wouldn't worry just as long as you go of the pill etc. GOOD LUCK!!:)

Well I went to the drs yesterday and i have had a blood test today so i should find out tomorrow wether i am or not though today my sister just told me shes 7wks preg :smiliedance: i am so happy for my little sister. i will let you all know what the results are tomorrow.

Well it came back neg :thumbsdown: so i finally have a truthful result, well i mean the hpt were correct then but a blood test is more accurate i believe, anyway i am going to focus on losing some weight and i might need to hold off on another one now that my sister is preg as she wants to return to work at 3mnths so i will be left holding the baby, oh i aren't i a nice sister, well at least i know she trusts me and must think im a good mother or maybe it because theres no one else. :laughing:
