 my DD is 2.5 and sleeps with me :D

I love it. but my ex has decided when she is at his place she has to sleep ON THE FUTON IN THE COLD, TILED DINING ROOM because she shouldnt be co sleeping (more so he can have sex with his 'woman'.) anyway he said to me, why do you still cosleep, what are the benefits?

well I was stumped to be honest. I just do it cos it feels right, and DD loves it. its easier, not only for night time waking and feeding as a bub but cos I can cover her/tend to her when she is sick much easier.

also, should I just make her sleep in her own bed now? i dont want to, but its got me thinking is 2.5 too old?:(

so what, in your opinions are the benefits of co sleeping?
could we make a list, Im going to print it out:)(just cut and paste then reply)

thanks

I honestly think some kids just need it.
My DD is a great sleeper now. You put her down in her cot and she's out to it. She even sleeps through!

My DS on the other hand is almost three and would (and has!) flip out at the idea of sleeping by himself. He's not comfortable with it, he needs to know that someone is there for him. It's security. I'm not going to take that away from him, he's still so young.

ok so

*security for bub/child
*ease of feeds/tending to child if sick/cold etc

To me it feels natural.

My children were/are all not so good sleepers and they like the security of co-sleeping.

They are little children and if it is security that they need, I will give it to them.

I love co-sleeping and hubby doesn't have a problem with it either.

It is hard to try and justify it to some people though.

Good luck and I hope he understands.;)

Well I'm going to go out on a limb here simply because it might interest your little one's father to hear from someone else who doesn't like to co-sleep.

I HATE CO-SLEEPING!

I doze all night long and wake up feeling like I've been hit by a truck. I get a sore neck, and shoulders and sore hips from sleeping on the same side all night. I wake up about every 10 minutes all night long every time bub snorts, moves, or breathes heavily.
I really don't like it.

But I do it.
Because I see that some nights DS just needs his mum close by and I don't like to see him get upset all alone in his room. So I let him sleep with me and his father has to sleep on the floor.

Being a parent is about putting someone else's needs first dad ;)

I do it because it just really seems odd not to do it.

I can't imagine it any other way. I would miss him so much. Its so snuggly.

I would keep him in there till he was five if it was just me and him, but I know that DP will evict him before then. He's only ten months so we have a little while to go before that happens.

The reason i do it is so i can sleep:laughing: Tyler never last a full nite in her bed. At the moment she will not even go into her bed:rolleyes: So i just have been putting her in bed with me. So i can try to get a good nite sleep

I love cosleeping. i started off in the beginning with lucas in his cot but found that most nights he would end up in my bed so after a week or 2 i just put him straight into bed with me. like some of the other's he still needs that security. sometimes he rolls over in the middle of the night and puts his arm around my neck to cuddle while he's sleeping. plus i even though i still wake up heaps cause lucas is a bed hog, i wake up more if he sleeps in his own bed. plus i only just got him to sleep through the night so i don't want to muck up a good thing.

I do it because I love it and because I couldn't see myself not doing it? We all co-sleep with both our daughters. Not alot of room or privacy but we still wouldn't have it any other way.

I just feel safer and more at ease with my kids in my bed, I can't see them sleeping anywhere else. I love snuggling up to my girls and hugging them to sleep. It's just so natural and they love it!

We co-sleep to get some proper sleep lol.I love co-sleeping though its a time where i can cuddle them because during the day they are so independent and i don't get much time to cuddle them.

Also dd doesn't or wont sleep by herself she needs the security.Ds sleeps with us some night other nights he's in his cot.
