For the past week i have very moody, tired and keep getting terrible headaches every day. Also everything my DH does seems to get on my nerves. Dont get me wrong i love him with all my heart but all he does is play the PS2, computer or watches sport from the moment he gets home till he goes to bed and all weekend. If im in the shower and DS starts crying he will continue to do whatever he is doing and just let him cry and then gets the sh*ts with me when i say something to him.

Could my feelings by just simple mood swings and tiredness or could they be signs of PND.

I had PND after my first girl, probably from 3 months on. It wasn't diagnosed until she was almost 9 months (wasn't that a fun 6 months).

In the end I knew the way I was feeling wasn't normal, I was crying and moody, stopped ringing people.... And hated my DH. But I figured it was a normal reation to having a baby. I loved my girl, but hated everything else in my life.... In the end it was such a relief to know that there was something wrong with me, that could be fixed.

It's hard to say, but if you're worried, go see someone to make sure either way! I ended up on medication for 6 months because it had been left for so long, so the early your treated, the better.

In regards to your DH was he the same with your first? Have you told him how your feeling? If that's not a wake up call just chuck his ps2... He'll soon get the message!!!;)

In the end only you know how you feel, but hope this helps...

Sweetie - it could be either.

I do know however that that is exactly how I get at times. I find it best to let DH have it. Tell me what he is doing (or not doing) and tell him it is getting to you. Try to get him to help out. If you can get some relief and get some sleep and the headaches, moodiness, etc are still there see your GP. It is best to get to the bottom of this rather than letting it take control.

I find that letting the grandparents watch the kids for a while and having a nap or even just sitting down and doing nothing can really get me out of moods like that. Give yourselve some time to be just you and see if things get better.

I hope you are going to be ok.:)

hey mum2b

You are probably sleep deprived...considering bubba is les than a month old. But i would agree with you being moody! It can make u a "little stressed" if the bubs is crying & DH is watching t.v & not helping to soothe him. I would be moody too! I have not had any experience with PND so i dont know what the signs are, you could go to the doc's if you think your baby blues aren't dissapering though:)

I also had PND/POD (post operative depression) after my DD was born as i had my gallbladder removed on my 21st birthday 3mths after she was born.

DH isnt the natural parent of my DD so no he wasnt around when i had DD.

Trust me i have been tempted to throw his PS2 and all his games out and if things dont get better after i talk to him about how im feeling tonight then it will get thrown out along with his computer games and all his car magazines:eek: . That will definately wake him up

I know one thing that helped me was getting out of the house, going for coffee etc - had to take the baby as my DH works nights, but found some of my friends were willing to put up with me and took me out for coffee once a week!

I'm surprised that with a past history you haven't got health workers stalking you! I'm due in April and they're already on my case about my history etc!

I know that when i found out the first time both me and DH were relieved, and when I talked to him about it he said that he wasn't doing as much as he knew he should've been, purely because I criticized him so much (ohhh, wasn't I bad!) he was actually scared of doing everything wrong, and figured he would cop it either way! But I stand by the games have got to go!

It may be sleep deprivation at this early stage (I am about to get a refresher course on that!) but if it lasts, go to the doctor. I feel ripped off in that I didn't get to enjoy the first 10 months of my baby girl as much as i should have, and won't be hesitating in going back to the doctor if I think I'm going that way again (although they may already be watching through the windows!)

By the way your boy is beautiful! How is it going with your DD and the age gap? Just curious as my daughter has just turned five and am wondering how she will go with the sharing of attention!

Keep chatting, Kelli:D

My dh is exactly the same - I have to cope with two children on my own, work fulltime, keep house running and move interstate.

He wonders why I whinge - go figure.

I suffered from PND too but dh's lazyness was way before that and after too.
