View Full Version : I have his ring. (mwahaha)
So husband-of-mine left his ring beside the kitchen bench last night, and it's now in my hot little hands.
It's our 3rd anniversary in a week's time and he's always wanted to get his ring engraved - and now i have the ring - what do I do?
Give it back to him now.
Keep it for a week and let him panic.
Engrave it and give it back early.
Hmmm..
And, for fun, if I take it for the week do I act blasé about it and tell him it'll turn up, or get cranky at him for losing it. :p
Haha, that's funny, i would probably just be blase about it and say it'll turn up or something like that and give it back to him early saying you 'found' it and see if he noticed that it's been engraved. :D

I'd keep it hidden, get it engraved.
See if he asks where it is :p
If he asked or fesses up, be blase' to start with, then after a few days ask him if he's found it, then start getting worried, right before you slip it into his dinner or something

If he left it loose and is yet to realise you have it I would keep it. If he mentions it I would sternly be telling him he better find it but not really grouching. I would then have it engraved and place it somewhere he will find it easily......
mwahaha
I love your work, girls!
Now I have to think about what to engrave in it.... :p
I'm mean - I'd keep it for the week, get it engraved, and make a big "show" of asking him where his ring was and why he took it off etc etc!
Then I'd probably tie it to a rose and give it back to him on the anniversary day.

Keep it for a week, and act like you don't know where it is,that would be funny when he admits to losing it(if he does).
I got a ring for df and engraved dd's and ds's and my initials on it and in between the initials there is a heart.
I was thinking of initials... or "143" (i love you), or just the date... I don't know !!
He wanted "Kicked in the head - 26-6-04" (the song played after our wedding - "ain't that a kick in the head") but I don't know that it'd fit.
If he left it loose and is yet to realise you have it I would keep it. If he mentions it I would sternly be telling him he better find it but not really grouching. I would then have it engraved and place it somewhere he will find it easily......
Thats exactly what i was thinking
Nikki - maybe get the date on it, and i dunno if much else would fit on there.....

I did this to dh on our 1st aniversary, engraved it and put it back where it was and he didnt even notice till the day of our anniversary when I told him to have a look.
So great minds think alike
My Dh woud freak if I didnt tell him I had his ring! he would be frantically searching everywhere when my back was turned...LOL
Dh rings is engraved with our initials ie KSE love (heart) DDE and the date we married.
dhs was engraved (I pretended I was getting it cleaned) his has the wedding date and then Bob and Jane Smith (not our real names lol)
oh nikki .. you know what WOULD be funny - you keeping the ring .. him freaking (but not telling you) and racing out to get a duplicate ring in the mean time .. how FUNNY ..
definately keep it- definately get the engraving done..
what about guildwars sucks?? or I married a nerd and I love it?
sigh .. I love the numbers .. (in your post) but seriously .. your grandkids will be VERY confused :p might not be as romantic in a few generations ..

I'd definitely keep it and get it engraved in the meantime and I like a previous suggestion of returning it on your anniversary attached to a rose. My DH and I have "Forever" and our wedding date engraved on our rings. If he fesses up to losing his ring in the meantime I'd freak and ask why the hell he had it off in the first place LOL and see his reaction! Hope you have a great anniversary!

I would get it engraved and give it back straight away.... I know DF would stress big time if he thought he had lost his ring...

Ok, I don't get it??? Can someone explain?:o

i get the engraving done and get it to him
Alright I've gone with 12% of you.. I can't do it, I can't keep it from him, I can already tell he's "lost" it.
I had it engraved today with our initials (my maiden name) and our wedding date.
And then I took a picture.

And now it's back where I found it... I have the wee bit that's no engraved facing him so that, hopefully, he won't notice. :)
I have been giddy all day.. LOL I find it hilarious to think he's panicking inside - is that nasty? :p)
i had hubs engraved i love you to the moon and back and he had my watch engraved i love you infity (symbol) +2 soo cute
i always thought 143 was the amount of letters in each word.. could be wrong tho.
great idea about engraving the ring :D i bought my dp one after we had dd#2 and engraved it with our first 2 daughters names.. gotta add dd#3 now. it will just fit i reckon..
Ok thanks ... I would never have guessed that!

Wow, learn a new thing every day!!
But if it is the number of letters in each word, couldn't it just as easily mean -

Are you serious? TALL?!??!?!
SUCCESS girls! He's found his ring, slipped it on and not noticed! Woohoo!
Well girls, I was on my way out to a friend's house tonight when Chris stopped, looked up and went "WHEN DID YOU ENGRAVE MY RING!" heehee
He said he took it off and noticed something different and suddenly got worried that he'd nicked someone elses ring
I said "Happy Anniversary." :)
