View Full Version : Is fleece as good as wool?
Hamish is in cloth nappies all day, but we're still to master night times. I'm planning to use BBB, but if it is super boosted, my wool soakers won't fit over the top. While I'm waiting for my larger soakers to arrive, is fleece just as good for night time cover action??
Thanks groovers.

I've used fleece at night with no dramas.
I prefer wool, but I don't think it's actually better at keeping the outside dry, they seem equivalent to me. Assuming it's a decent fleece, some thinner cheaper fleeces may not work as well as wool all night.

Also BBH PUL covers are excellent for nights, they do not leak, they just have to washed after one use. Which isn't a big deal, I just chuck em in the bucket with they nappy

I don't wash my pul covers after 1 use,i give them a couple of goes,i have noticed they don't smell at all after one use so thats why i don't wash them straight away.I use mine at night though i think after a number 2 i would wash it though.
I am a fleece user and i think they are great,PUL covers are great too.
My ds is sensitive to wool so he cant wear it.

Oh no I don't wash my BBH wool cover after one use, just the PUL one
The PUL only smells after one use because we only use fitteds at night, and the nappy is super duper full of smelly wee

I use BBBs and Fleece covers overnight. Never used wool, but I don't need to... fleece is working fine.
I've got Stacinator Deluxe Fleece and Tots Bots (there are two that are double-layered or something... one had spots and one is all-red... apparently the stipey one isn't so crash hot...no idea why?).
Anyway, they work well. BBBs need to be boosted to work REALLY well... but I rarely see compression leaks (unless they're not boosted).

I found that fleece covers work better for us during the day, I much rather use wool (knitteds and wraps) or BB PUL covers for night. The BB PUL covers are more durable than any other PUL cover I've come across and like HDD after one use whether it being day or night it only gets used once before washing.
I prefer fleece. Works well with less fuss.
