Just HPT and I'm not going to bother with the Dr. Was a waste of time and money last time!

I don't need a referral as I'm going through a public birth centre, and a lot of the time doctors don't even bother actually doing any tests themselves.

I only used an HPT. My doctor says that they are no less accurate than the test she would do so she never bothered.

I have an appt on thursday with a Dr up the road. All I really need is a referral as we're are private & need for OB...waste of time really so I made sure he was a BB Gp so I wouldn't have to pay $55 for a piece of paper!...:D

hpt, and have booked in to see doc when i'm just over 8 weeks.

have gone public with both boys. first pg and birth were a breeze, my doc said to go through birth centre with next, which i did and second pg was a breeze but ds was 10lb and epidural didn't work on one side - so doc said not to do that again - go through her, i may even pay to see an ob but only if they can say i can have a c-section if bub is too big.

I've only done HPTs so far but have an appointment with my doc this afternoon. Can't wait to tell her the news (she gets quite excited :D).

Anyway, I've been doing HPTs everyday, just cos I love looking at the BFP so much! But thing is, the line is now soooo dark! I'm only 4 weeks but the result line is as dark as the control line!! Maybe it's twins!

I just had a dating scan this morning. I really wanted to see the heartbeat before I got too excited! Dates matched perfectly so here's hoping for another uneventful pregnancy :) I'm due 10 Feb.

Hi Cin,

Yeah, she was really excited LOL. She knew we had decided to try but don't think she thought we'd get a BFP first go! Anyway, I get my results back on Monday... so hard waiting, but I'm still doing HPT every few days & there's a nice dark line.
Have you got your results back yet Cin?

I had 2 hpt and when i got to the dr he didnt do his own as he said he was confident with the tests i had dont. He sent me straight for a heap of bloods and refered me to Ob.

No, not yet. My GP said not to come back to see him for another 2 weeks. he did order all the bloods which were needed so hopefully i wont have to have anymore bt.

He said that when i go back i will have to have decided whether or not to deliver in the town i work in (20 mins from home) or the town closer to where i live (10 mins form home).

You only have a choice of 2 docs in the town closest to home and not much choice, but that is where dh was born. but i think that i will chose to go to the other one as it is newer and closer to dh work.

Ohh i really dont know, ohh well i have two weeks to think about it.

They're big decisions aren't they? I'm still not sure about my hospy choice - there seems to be horror stories about all of them. TBH, I would really prefer a home birth, but I'm classed a high-risk pregnancy, so that's out. Good luck with your decision!
