When is it safe to put some toys in the cot?

Hi Len

I don't know the "official" ruling on this, but I started putting a couple of small soft toys in the cot at around 9 1/2 months.

I think it is important that bubs is fully mobile in the cot, i.e. rolling over both ways, or even crawling.

I just made sure that there were no unsafe parts on the toys that could be chewed off, eg, sewn on eyes not stuck on eyes.

Hope this helps! :)

PS. It is sooo cute to see them cuddling a toy when sleeping!

Umm I'm not sure, my baby can't crawl yet and theres some cuddle toys at the top of her cot. I guess as long as theres no cords or things she can choke on or hurt herself on its ok, but mes no expert. Everytime I wake up during the night I check my daughters blankets not over her face and tuck her hands in so they don't get cold :D Shes my princess :)

EJ has some tedies down the end of her cot and she also has a lamaze frog that hangs on the side of the cot up where her head is. She loves that frog and will move over to sleep near it (also bashes it up) and has had it there since she was 4 weeks old. I did have another lamaze toy in there which i did move out when i found her sleeping right up against it:/ Frogs toes are too large at pres for her mouth and there is nothing she can really get caught in with it..

The teddies now shes getting interested in but so far has only managed to turn herself sidewards in her efforts to get to them... I think if they are safely out of reach and wouldnt cause a choking/suffocation hazard then all is ok?

Its so cute seeing her reach out and touch froggie and smile then fall asleep:)
