Hi,

Just a quicky,

The 18-20 week scan is it better to have it leaning towards 20 weeks or is it ok to book in for 19 weeks?
They say that you should be able to see all the things they need to from 18 weeks onwards but just wanted to hear any views??

Cheers! :)

Hi Jiminy,

Depends on why your having the scan.
If your chooseing to have the 18-20 wk scan for morphology then the bigger the better (20 weeks is better as all the babies organs are a little easier to see), but if your having it to confirm your dates then the earlier the better (earlier scans are more accurate at predicting the geatational age of your bambino).
If you want it for both (morphology and dates) then book in when you think your 19 weeks.
I know lots of women who have been a little unsure of their dates & booked in for the scan when they thought they were 18 weeks......only to be told they have to come back again in a few weeks time for a repeat scan because the baby was too small to do morphology.
Irrelevant if your sure of your dates though
