Hi
I have a 5 month old daughter who generally sleeps quite well day and night. However, for the past couple of days she has been rolling onto her tummy as soon as I put her into the cot for a nap. Problem is, she gets stuck there and won't go to sleep. During the day I've been having to turn her onto her back up to 20 times before she gives up and goes to sleep. So when I put her to bed tonight, I pinned her down with a sheet which seems to have done the trick for now.
Has anyone got any good ideas about how to handle this? And can anyone tell me if this is just a phase she's going through. If I left her on her stomach, do you think she'd learn to sleep that way too?
I guess I haven't tried leaving her ono her tummy for too long because I'm a little concerned about the safety factor - especially since she can't roll back over. I have an Angelcare sound and movement monitor but to be honest, I don't feel it's much help since the alarm would only go off if my daughter didn't take a breath for more than 20 seconds. It's a bit late when she's already stopped breathing.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
