I am weaning my 21 day old DD from breast to formula...trust me - big decision(!)...and wondering how I should do this safely.

To make it an easier transition fro you - i'd try & do one bottle a day for a week, then another, so by the end of 4weeks bubs is having 4bottles IYKWIM. And alternate the feeds, so that it is breast then bottle then breast etc. Will make it less painful for you & decrease chance of mastitis.
If you need to do it quicker than that - go for a bottle every day or so - and express a cery small amount when you get really engorged, just to feel comfy & try not to express until you letdown. goodluck!!

I had to do the same and my DS is about the same age. It was recommended I drop one feed a day or every couple of days to avoid mastitis until your baby is exclusively formula fed. I had low supply despite trying everything to increase supply so I could do it a bit quicker if I wanted but like you it was a big and difficult decision for me.

as the other ladies have said just alternate maybe offer 2 bottles during the day and BF in between then gradually introduce another one this way it will be easier on you and you will gradually lose your milk :)
