Hi ya
If its really hot at the moment bubs could be suffering prickly heat. If that is the case don't put any creams on it as this will make it worse. The islanders say put cornflour on prickly heat because it is a natural product and will not clog up the pores.
If you are breast feeding maybe its a reaction to something you have eaten - or hormones which is something I think just about every baby suffers and that just goes away. As your bubs is only 7 weeks old it is pretty hard to figure out, if you are concerned you should go the doctors but you really don't want to be smearing creams over bubs just yet.
Another possibilty which my daughter sometimes suffered was dribbling and this caused a huge rash, she looked terrible, but it went away pretty fast too.
Give the health clinic a call and speak to your health nurse they will be able to help you straight away.
Good luck

Hey there, the same hting happened with DS around same time - i was told it is hormone or 'milk' rash. It will go away of its own accord so leave it, but heat can make it worse. x

I got told the same thing - my DS had it all over his face... it started to enter his hairline... and go down his neck- and then over the space of about two days it noticably started to disappear...
it is frustrating... newborns are supposed to be beautiful and blemish free!!! but my GP said that there is little they can do... (you can give bubs a course of steriods apparently  - but only if there is a desperate cosmetic reason )

that also happened to my daughter she got it around her chin and under her nose but the doc just said it was a milk rash and it is common.
i understand how freaked out you must off got i got real concerned!!!
but it went away after a while

My bubs got it across his cheeks it too a few weeks to go away but did slowly settle down just dont touch it in dont try to squeeze or use creams on it as this can only scar or aggravate it all.
I agree with you veve newborns are supposed to be gorgeous, like you see in pictures etc but alas they arent shame about the misconception though.
We still have beautiful babies though :D
