Competitions and giveaways are always very popular with our viewers. Only current 3 Star Listings have the opportunity to increase their exposure to our viewers by offering a competition. For those paying quarterly, you must have advertised as a 3 Star Listing for a minimum of two quarters to be eligible to offer a competition.
Competitions run for a month and are promoted:
- in our monthly e-newsletter which goes out to over 56,000 subscribers and businesses
- via the 'Competitions' link which appears on the top of all pages of the site and forum
You have the freedom to choose the number of prizes you offer - from one to 12. Our experience is that less prizes at a higher value each (eg 5 winners of prizes valued at $100) get better entry results than when a competition is run with more prizes at a lesser value each (eg 12 winners of prizes valued at $37.50 each). And you can offer goods/services as prizes or vouchers that are redeemable through your store/business, but there must be no condition that the winner must first spend a certain amount to be able to redeem the prize. You are responsible for the postage/delivery of the prizes to the winners within 3 weeks of the competition being drawn. The cost of the postage/delivery should not be calculated into the value of the prize.
Details of all competitions appear on the competitions page. On this page, your competition will be featured with a brief introduction and your image. Your listing will link through to your individual competition page on which you will receive:
- 100 words describing the prize/s and the question you would like the viewers to answer
- a square image of the prize(s) no larger than 150 pixels wide x 150 pixels high (.gif or .jpeg required)
- your company logo, which will appear no larger than 100 pixels high (.gif or .jpeg required)
- a hyperlink to the web page of your choice (normally your home page)
- company name and basic contact details, usually as per your listing
Minimum prize value to be offered is $450, but the sky is the limit!
As part of the competition, viewers will be asked to answer a question, the answer for which can only be found on your website. In this way, the competition is designed to drive traffic to your site and thus raise your exposure. We suggest you shy away from obvious questions like "Name one of 3 features of our product that we list on our site". Instead, we recommend you ask something a little more involved, yet not too hard, such as "What is your favourite product in our range and why?" as an example.
Please note that the details of competition entrants are retained by The Bub Hub and you should not view this as a database building opportunity - only the winner(s) details will be passed on.
You will receive copies of the answers to the question (if relevant) so the competition can be used for some fantastic product popularity and market research! You are, of course, free to promote any competition on your own website via your ads and these competitions are not bound by these conditions.
