parks & beaches

Perth - is a large metropolitan area and has been broken up into smaller municipalities over the years. These Local Government Councils provide a huge range of activities and recreational facilities. These range from public under cover swimming pools to the stunning beaches and of course the beautiful Swan & Canning Rivers that flow through the city as well as open parkland and bushland.

The City of Perth is a very accessible city for all people including people with disabilities. It has pedestrian friendly streets and public spaces designed according to universal design principles. Continuous accessible paths of travel link public transport, parking, retail, business and entertainment areas.

The City of Perth website has a guide to parks and open areas and attractions in the Perth CBD. If you need additional information about a park, contact the City of Perth on (08) 9461 3236.

The following parks have been recommended to us as the best parks for toddlers:

  • Ivey Watson Playground, Kings Park - Kings Park Rd, Perth
  • Langley Park - Terrace Drv, Perth
  • Heirisson Island East - Causeway, Perth
  • Rod Evans Centre - cnr Hay & Plain Sts, Perth
  • Mardalup Park - Brown St, East Perth

Other regions - See Online WA or contact your local council for more information on local parks and recreational facilities in other regions.
